I have been growing in soil for along time and consider myself fairly experienced but i have no idea how to set up a hydro grow. I am thinking about doing a 4x4 flood drain system but again i have no idea how to set it up or if that is the best way to go about it. I was hoping to make it a totally automated system if possible. Any input will be much appreciated.

Once you try hydro, you will never go back. There is a small learning curve, but once you are there your yields will triple. Welcome!

Thanks, Triple? How is this possible? If I am getting 1.5 pounds per light, i would get 4.5 per if i switched to hydro? What nutes do you use and what typ of hydroponic system do you use?

I get between 1-1.5 lbs per. I'm growing in 27 gallon tough box totes. I veg for about a month. I have two rooms blooming at all times and a separate room with T5 lights and CFLs for vegetating. I grow trees. Big root space gives very fat colas.

so you get 1-1.5 per light or plant? Cus i dont believe you can get even close to a pound off of one plant that you veg for a month. a month is not very long to grow a "tree". I believe thats possible outside with a really long veg or inside as well with a really long veg, but then your paying for alot to veg out your "trees".

A month is a really long veg. You have never grown hydroponically, have you? It's a completely different animal than growing in dirt. You need to get your feet wet before you open your mouth.

I have some that are going into a flowering room tonight. I will take some pics so you can see 'With your very own eyes!'.

Dude, if you are getting 1-1.5 lbs per plant after only a 4 week veg you are lying. Can you please post a pic of a 4 week veg plant with that much weight on it. Il post some of my shit up tonight.

Atami Wilma is a great system for beginners, it has a little bit of flexibility for whatever medium you want to use and it comes in a bunch of different sizes.

Like I said, get your feet wet before you open your mouth. Hydroponics is NOT dirt. you are spouting off with zero experience.

your canopy sucks, your weed looks like shit, your plants 20 days into veg were fucking less than a foot tall, so dont tell me that "1.5lb" plant that was at least five feet tall got less than a four week veg. and by the way if you stripped and trimmed your plants like a good grower you would harvest fatter. and oh ya get a real hood you cheap bastard. and post a good picture of your shit. Thats pretty pathetic your weed looks that hay like in a hydro set up. Ill post some picks of my shit tonight. that actually harvest around 1.5lb per 1000w with a four week veg and as far as looks and smoke would put your shitty hydro to shame. "wet my feet" learn how to read and understand your plants, they look pretty fucking unhealthy.
