Hi There,

Welcome to RUI

Good luck with your grow, it seems there is something you should know though.
Seeds have enough nutrents in them to last the first couple weeks of growth. It sounds like you added nutes already.
That could cause problems.

I use distilled water ph at 6.o untill there second set of leaves then nutes at half strength. I have seen an aero grow before and would recomend you look into scrog style of grow where you train the plants or figure out how to raise that light. They work.

Oh ok, so will it cause my plants not to grow? I didnt know as much as i know now about the AG before i purchased it..Also it says I have 30 days to return, ive been thinking about using that money to buy a good light source ( www.insidesun.com ) and using dirt if all doesnt go well with this thing..

PS. can anyone tell me if its possible to grow using the AG without all the add-ons and accessories?

dont feed your plants nutes the first two weeks its stresses them out. and could cause them to die in the future. if you must feed them tho go 1/4 on the nutes

i feel ya. your just going to need to add some light for different stages. veg-flowering. timer.ph tester.therm.

you dont necessarily need all of these but i mean if your going to put the time in you mine as well buy a couple things to make things easier and make sure your plants survive.

yeah deff get one of those.
make sure you get a figure 8 cord tho.
so your Ag lights will go off whatever time you set the timer.

sounds awesome man , put my seedlings in it today.*bc big bud seeds* i have an idea or 2 for you
the figure 8 cord was about 8 bux at radeo shack. i also picked up a small air pump and some hose and air sones from a pet store the other day. hat cost 25$ total.
iv been researching and it you fill the water high enough, combined with the airstone, the bubbels are enough to keep the sponge wet for seedlings.
the air pump is not neccacary, but im hoping it wil help out. ill be sure to keep you posted

ps theres some pics in my album if you want to check it out in action

Hey man!! I just started my Aerogarden this weekend too, and I also put in both of the starter nutrient tablets. I flushed the system after a day, heeding the warnings from other growers on the site. Probably a wise precaution for you to do the same!

Yeah, I was pretty confused about it too, considering that the herbs and plants you would normally grow in the Aerogarden are exposed to the nutrients from the very beginning. Don't sweat it if there are a few undissolved nutrients still in the reservoir after flushing, I left a few in and they seem to be doing my plants nothing but good ;-)
