New system design. Does it suck?

Want massive roots? Try Hygrozyme.....pretty pricey (about 30 bucks a litre) but works wonders. Root rot? Advanced has Pihrana. That will clear things up. Just don't let rez temps get too high. A buddy of mine is always adding this stuff and that stuff. Recently he put some shit in the rez (god only knows which additive caused that) and everything started to smell really funky. He got some pihrana and everything cleared up within 3 days.
My biggest battle is temperature control in both room and water. Such is life in the desert.

You CAN'T be using an aero system and running at 1400ppm are you?
From your description and your pictures, your system seems to be a cross between hydro and aero. You have a large space for air between your lid and the nutes, but you have a substantial nute depth. Would you say that's true?

With the aero systems I've looked at, the roots are not submerged in nutes, The nutes are just sprayed and excess water is returned to the resevoir.

Well, I assume you're taking that in to consideration when you design your new system. I'm fighting with that too. I have a chiller which will work wonders. Now I need to figure out how to pipe it in to multiple rez's and get an equal distribution of water...both supply and return.

Hey...wanna buy a chiller? It was only driven to and from church on Sundays by a little old lady.

LOL, Now that sounds like a used car salesmen ! I find that most of the heat in the water come from the pump. Where do you try to keep your water temp?

I'm pretty much off the "new design" thing. To many unknowns. I'm leaning more toward modifying the existing system similar to yours. You do however got me thinking about increasing the size of my tub

I can't really control my temps yet as the chiller isn't hooked up yet. My tubs are on a concrete basement floor with a fan blowing on them. The temps never get above 78. I live in the mid-atlantic (close enough to hit GW Bush with a stone) and although it gets up to 98 in the summer I still maintain fairly low rez temps.

In this instance, I miss my cool Long Island basement, but I imagine the damp would have brought with it a whole different set of problems. I'll give you a stone, just make sure you hit him!

I'm still debating whether to shut down June thru October when outside hits 105 or better but humdiity is less than 15%. That's if I don't want to pay thru the nose to keep the room cool. I was reading about putting clones into stasis so that might be the way I need to go. I feel my carbon footprint is growing. I wish I had the 20K to spend for photovoltaic panels so I can get off the fucking grid!

I feel for ya. My buddy had me hardwire a bypass around his electrical meter but I don't have the balls to do it to mine.

Risky business. I wonder which offense carries more jail time?
LOL......ummmm, considering his operation, and comparing the two, I think you could consider the meter thing a misdemeanor. 4000w, computerized CO2 injection, PH and nute dosing pumps, light movers and enough nutes to supply the whole east coast.

Holy Shit, Industrial farming. Well, I guess if it's ever decriminalized, he'll be sitting pretty. I just wanted to stop spending 400 a month for products of varying quality and availability. Right now I'm upside down on the cost to benefit ratio but I'm expecting that to change soon

My thoughts exactly. Just give me enough to cover my costs and enough to last until the next harvest and I'll be smiling.
