I guess thats a good bet! Maybe you already saw a good veg with only 3000k too eheh mixing two spectrums thats an experiment that i want to watch :p

once i get my panels set up, i may spin up a grow journal. ive got some querkle, og kush and jack herer vegging now.. only a couple weeks in from seed

im excited to see the progress Dave has for us here...

3000k and 4000k are a good balance of spectrum for both veg and grow. meaning i can keep the same light fixture throughout the entire grow and get the advantages of both spectrums, 4000k for veg and 3000k for flower, and both phases will benefit from both spectrums.

the theory behind it i would think is that you have the mix of spectrums mixed in on the same board as opposed to having one board with all 3000k and one board with all 4000k.

i may order 12 more boards with 3000k and 5000k diodes to see if there is a difference.
Hlg did that experiment for you 3500k is the same spectrum that's why they don't offer it.

1 3000k + 1 4000k does not equal 1 3500k
It has been proven over and over quite successfully that 3000k and 4000k are good spectrums to work with.

There is a reason I didn't order 304 3500k diodes, and why I chose 50% 3000k and 50% 4000k

Yes but when you do half of each at the same power the spectrum is the same as 3500k the 4k gives you the blue peak an the 3k gives the red peak the plant wouldn't be able to tell the difference. If you have the 3k and 4k on different channels so you could shut off or dim one of them that could provide a small benefit. I'm sure you will grow some great bud with the mixed spectrum. It just won't be better it should be the same as 3500k

You might be right. We shall see. That's why it's an experiment for me.

My premise is that I will get the light spectrum benefit of both 3000k and 4000k.

I was wrong the test was 4k vs 3k and 5k difference is really small
You might be right about the mix of 3000k + 4000k... won't know until I run it. I can't say definitively either way yet. Afaik I will be the first to run a mix board.

nice. thanks for that.
understandably since I don't do social media, i'd not know of these folks.

though a quick search on 3 of those you listed doesn't show boards with mixed diodes, but rather 1 panel of different spectrums. Though I suppose that is inconsequential

edit: looks like the smartgrowsys guys use mixed diode boards, with great success.. those nugs look sexy.

About mix diode boards, yes, you are quite right, which is why i bought some... so i could experiment. Glad you're finally catching on.
No you don't know much cause you keep making bullshit stupid claims. The only thing you have is guts to use your real pic as your avatar. Kudos to you on that.

The reason the Chinese can't charge the same for the work, is that they cannot be trusted to, A complete the job without using fake parts, B not make copies and undersell you with their fake crap.

Your alarm clock probably doesn't mind that it has a bunch of components swapped for the cheapest possible alternative, it will still work. With LEDs, there is no room for shit like that.

Im sorry I made you upset. But you really need to move on.

So is your argument that everything that comes from China is fake?

They stopped getting those boards from China because they were being fitted with B or B+ chips instead of what they paid for.

Makes sense. I suppose I would too if I were in the business of reselling these boards. I can see why they (HLG) would have such a bitter regard for the Chinese manufacturers.

But why is everyone upset that I chose to get them direct from China? Should I have paid the toll like a good lad?

The 288 boards are made in usa. 304 boards are still made in china. afaik.
