New style Samsung LM561C Board

No. They didn't come up with new technology. They got help with designing a slightly new looking PCB. Similar PCB, maybe slightly different in design have been around for a while. The diodes were created and designed by Samsung.

What they did do is bring awareness to the LED community, and that is a good thing. I commend them for being business people. I just don't personally want to pay the markup they are charging.

Why do you care so much about me?

Jealous? heh. Funny.
I could not careless about you. Just don’t approve of your disrespect and lack of consideration you could have gone about it in a completely different way, without the bashing

Then stop asking rhetorical dumbshit questions.

Stop being a snowflake. I merely pointed out the outrageous amount the entire LED reseller market is charging. HLG is by far the best of the lot, but still could do better. If you consider that being disrespectful, I don't know what to tell you.
@see4 you should have a special button or badge or something that let's others know how retarded you are before getting lost in this tangent you call your life.....
Im sorry I hurt your feelings, sock.

They were not around at all a few years ago I looked for similar pcb way before the lm561c hype I didn't have the time or money to design my own boards hlg brought the square pcb with the lm561c to the market now everyone on Alibaba copies them. It is a very realistic markup if you don't think so you really don't know what your talking about most people at least double their money good business people will triple it. When are you going to sell these boards to us at cost? Not only that but if you have the lm561b instead of lm561c on your boards you will lose way more than you saved in lost yield

They have been making PCB boards for LEDs for industrial lighting for quite some time, and in flashlights.

Connecting LEDs to a PCB is not a new thing.

I'm not a reseller of LED lights. I have no intention ever of reselling the boards I bought.

Yes but not in the same format I understand they didn't invent the tech. You obviously haven't been using led long enough to know that none of the boards that you can get now were available a few years ago....yes you could have had them made but because of hlg being copied we now have more options. Check out nextlight they were the first to use mid power Samsung diodes hlg gave us all a better option for a fraction of the price. You can do what you want but there is no need to shit on hlg they are the reason you were able to order your boards so easily.

I bought a Magnum 757 or whatever it was called about 7 years ago. It had a pcb (though very basic) with diodes on it (total garbage). That was my first LED. So I've been "doing" LED for longer than most of you have been on RIU.

HLG is far better than nextlight or black dog or any of those other total rip-offs. I just choose not to pay their markup.

And like I said, many times before I am not shitting on HLG, I simply choose not to pay their markup. If you choose to do so because it gives you peace of mind, then great! They are in business to supply people like you, and that is great! -- Me personally, I like to do things DIY. Really truly DIY.

You make a solid point. Nothing like a true DIY. Which you refer to as some guy in China doing the soldering/reflowing for you but leaving the complicated parts like plugging in the wagos to the real experts.

No. DIY, as in sourcing the stuff myself, experimenting with drivers, configurations, etc.
For example, I ordered boards with 50% 3000k diodes and 50% 4000k diodes... afaik HLG does not offer that.
Why should I be beholden to only what HLG offers me? That's just silly.

@see4 hi i was thinking about order 50%/50% too where did you buy yours?
And why do you choose 4000k and 3000k?
3000k and 4000k are a good balance of spectrum for both veg and grow. meaning i can keep the same light fixture throughout the entire grow and get the advantages of both spectrums, 4000k for veg and 3000k for flower, and both phases will benefit from both spectrums.

the theory behind it i would think is that you have the mix of spectrums mixed in on the same board as opposed to having one board with all 3000k and one board with all 4000k.

i may order 12 more boards with 3000k and 5000k diodes to see if there is a difference.

@see4 i saw here on the forum nice yields with only 4000k, just saying, i was aiming for 3000k earlier than i saw that i was thinking about mixing 4000k,3000k and put some more reds for flowering

yea, The Dawg has some amazing harvests from 4000k and up spectrums. And to that I would say that some of it has to do with grower ability. He is a good grower, his lights are only part of his equation.

For me, combing the two spectrums on one panel is just an experiment for the sake of experiment, and not trying to improve upon anything per say. If the result is better than the expectation.. well then great!

I was thinking of adding specific spectrums like 620nm or 450nm range, but I'm not sold on its benefits yet over white light spectrum. I will wait on that for now.
