Looks like I'm ordering loads of cheap crap then to prove all these fake boards have epistar diodes.

Most people who order off alibaba know they run a big chance of not getting lm561c diodes anyway so your tests would be useless.. paying 30-40$ a board that's 15% less efficient or so is worth it to more than enough people to keep them in business

The total cost as below:

1pcs grow board, with 200pcs Samsung SMD LED, 120w-----$29
1pcs meanwell HLG-120H-54A/B---$36.1
1pcs heat dissipation----$10
Total samples cost----$75.1

Above all parts shipping cost total: 39.3/pcs by DHL.

Total: $114.4

this is Shenzen Bava ...price is ok

But do I need something else to make it run or this is a kit version...

I dont know about bava but ive purchased 4 boards from meiju 3000k for veg and flower for my 4x4 running at 520-530w on 2 hlg-240-c2100b driver (without poti) im about 1 week from harvesting my White widow and so far looks like I should be able to pull easily 1g/w of quality bud probably more.. for about 400usd including shipping.. for a first grow with some newbie error here and there I think thatspretty good so either the lights are real lm561c s6 or not I couldnt care less they did grow very well and met my expectation so far.. ill report back once I have final dry weight - around in 2-3 weeks. I think quality for the price is really there.

On a side not the sales rep from meiju wrote to me yesterday and sent me their list of products with price. I see they have new boards with some epistar 660nm for added red spectrum but also received their compliance document for CE qnd ROHS for what its worth I dont care but maybe some care about that too

Who started this black dot are lm561b nonsense. If they are lying about lm561c then who's saying they are even samsung. Many other companies use 5630 package too. Unless you have tested the voltages and output then you have no idea really.

E2a here's a seller of epistar leds sold as lm561c on aliba a. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Epistar-5630-SMD-LED-0-5W_1732271458.html this seller sells boards too so all them boards are gonna be epistar.
I expect you're correct about a lot of these boards having Epistar diodes, but this "black dot are lm561b nonsense" does have some background. I have Samsung Acuity strips with the black dot.

Any pics?
The Mejui Boards are working great for me too. Great coverage - about 12" x 36" per board. I might even consider another 2 later funds permitting.
I'm using 150 watts per 800 leds, probably not lm561c but that's half decent efficiency.

I'd bet my years crop on it.

What I'm saying is a lot of leds have a black dot, even the lm561c, just very faint. People are calling everything with a black dot lm561b withought any testing what's ever.

I bet the alibaba vendors are laughing as now they just say they are lm561b and people belive it.

I got the 304boards running each board at 130w (or 260w per heatsink) :

I must say they look pretty good

Here is some recent pic of my grow (more in my journal)IMG_3790.JPGIMG_3792.JPG IMG_3791.JPG

They are looking very frosty and good size.. could have I achieve better with hlg boards? Maybe maybe not.. but all I know is the girls loved the light .. so at this point dont really care either they are legit lm561c s6 or not.. i could have twice as much boards for the price of one hlg550 for example.. so this is really a no brainer for me.. I encourage people to buy HLG when they can afford but people should not be scared to buy those boards from alibaba as Im getting good result so far.. but I understand different vendors may use different diodes and there is probably even a risk of getting different diodes from the same vendor on separate orders.. but all in all so far im very satisfied
