New Grower Needs Help with Set up of Drip system xD

Hey guys! I have just finished posting the thread on me Introducing myself and a little background story of myself :] Anyways onto business I am trying to set up a drip system than by the time the plants grow a bit ill have gathered money to created my Ebb and Flow set up xDSo for my drip system it contains:10 Gallon Resovoir386 GPH water pump (I was looking for a 100gph but thats the smallest they had)Im not sure if I messed up because i bought a 5/8ths inch hose and a 1/4'' hose BEFORE I even knew what was required for the pump. I wasnt exactly sure what is used to cut those perfect holes on top of the tote to fit in the baskets.Also I need to cut perfect holes on the sides to fit in the hoses and perfect meaning, circular because if it was a square we all know it'd leak. If someone could give me advice on how to do that without the use of power tools (I just dont have em) that would be awesome.but for my big question I was curious as how to set up the timers to go off in 15 minute intervals. and should it be every one hour it goes off for 15 minutes?I have the mini hose that connects to the waterpump and this little attachement for the mini hose that allows 2 gallons in 1 hour, should I have downsized?and for a growing medium on a drip system should it be pellets? I was looking into that hydroton I wasnt really sure, it looks to be more effecient, what does Rollitup think?

UH I think you want to get T-barbs instead of drilling holes,not sure. YOu could heat up a drill bit and make your holes burning into it.

hmmm Ill need to look more into it, my work is limited on what websites I can go on (darn web filters)Yeah I just need to drill Holes on the side for my hoses that connect to a socket (hopefully thats what its called)than ill seal it with aquarium glue (which I still need to find a cheap yet effective one to get)When I find my camera Ill be sure to take pictures of the process but bear in mind it wont be perfect ill try but its hard without the use of legitamate tools, I wont have to worry about the big holes on top because as long as they are smaller than the basket I should be good.How much would a good cheap T-barb go for?Thanks for your time!

Im sorry I got carried away there, I was describing the process of my future set up,I got everything together and it seems that all I need to do is clip a little bit of the edge to fit the cord for my 185gph waterpump (smallest size I could find)and drill a hole in the middle for the water pump it has maybe 8 lines to it?I have the mini hoses that connect. than the dripped extensions than All I need now is the baskets to determine the size holes I need to manually cut (maybe with a sheetrock knife? haha) then rockwool as the medium than the pellets to put the rockwool into, Or i could just use one solid hydroton (which right now seems to be the most effecient thing because it would save me from transplanting.) What does Rollitup Think?

Just wanted to update that I have just recieved my 150 watt HPS bulb my grow area may be a 2x2 area than I will gradually increase so I can conduct more tests on plants when it comes to sexing them (I know i know.. One step at a time.. but I just have a natural tendency of thinking ahead.)

ITs a 150 watt Sun System hps bulb.. I know its only recommended for flowering but it was a deal! haha
I still want to get a 250-400 watt MH and also for my flowering I want to add a 240-400 watt HPS bulb, but that will all come through time.

I am learning how to hand the fixture up, so Im looking into the drill bit thing to screw in a hook into the wall to hang the fixture onto chains so I can adjust the height, and its a 150! so i can get REALLY close! im happy about that! xD

Im considering making a drip system to leave out in backyard for plants to take in regular sunlight because I just dont know how to get rid of the spiders/flys from getting onto my crops.

last grow season I just had a little problem with these little white fly things. also I need to construct a portable roofing so when it rains during the flowering stage I wouldnt need to worry about the mold issues.

just get your pipe/hose and T piece,1 pipe/hose from the pump to T piece then hoop your pipe/hose from the 1 end of T piece TO the other and puncture holes in with nails EASY.

Rockwool goes moldy on drp system so use a smaller one say 3inch,then use pebbles.
Dont bother with timer just leave it on constantly.
lethe roots hanging in the nutrient fully covered

So Pump connect to middle of t peice, hose to connect from left to right side, puncture holes so water comes out of holes and BAM a circular watering drip system right?

wow thanx! i never thought of that! Whats your opinion on Hydroton? and right now I ordered 5 inch hydro baskets, I thought 3 inches would be small, Would it even matter since roots will fall into the resovoir anyway?

hmmmmm right now im not putting in air stones yet until the roots grow enough to hit the bottom of my resovoir (bear in mind I have just ordered my baskets to come in, I dont know the height, but if its tall enough to hit the surface of the water i will put in air stones,
so if I had no air stones in the beginning wouldnt I need to worry about over watering that way? I hear it should go off for 15 minutes every hour or somethin..

I just picked up and installed my 150 watt hps it looks really good, im winging EVERYTHING now, I found this cabinent that has two long horizontal doors. I will measure once I get back home.Using aluminum as reflecter, will get mylar soon, ordered hydro baskets,waiting to get in until i make the outline on my tote. Till than im using lights on outdoor plants until it stops raining and they will be good to go outside, than I can use the lights for my drip systemSorry if im not seperating into paragraphs, Im using a proxy at work that doesnt allow me to put in paragraphs once its sent.
