New grow room Autopot grow

I’m getting everything put together for my new grow room. It will be an 8’x18’ room built into one half of my garage. It’s going to be climate controlled with a proper A/C unit and a humidifier and dehumidifier that are more than capable of maintaining the proper environment.

I purchased two autopot systems, one easy2grow with four 2.2 gal pots each with a 4 in 1 divider; and one XXL with six 9 gal pots. The easy2grow is for veg and the XXL is for flower.

I will be growing in coco with Beanstalk CRF for veg and flower along with a couple additives (regenaroot and headmasta) which the autopot company showcased in a YouTube video for this specific application.

For lights I will be running three ac infinity EVO3 280w LEDs with supplemental UV bars and maybe some other supplemental light bars. In veg I will be using a quantum board purchased on alibaba.

The strains I will be running are Slam Dunk (Gary Payton x Grandi Candi) by LIT Farms and Spritzer x Blackberry Apple by 11s genetics. I will be growing two Slam Dunk and four of the SxBA in flower with the Slam Dunk being for flower and the latter for hash rosin.

Sorry if this grow is a little slow to get started, but I promise I’ll keep up. I will post progress pics on the room but I won’t be germinating my seeds until the construction of the grow room is complete.

Intrested to see how autopots work with coco i was debating them before i just stuck to hand watering daily, the thought of salt built up from bottom feed is what put me off the autos

I will be running Beanstalk so it will just be water and the additives in my rez. It should help keep maintenance down to the minimum.

make sure you run a sterile res. Pool shock or peroxide.
The biggest problem is funk buildup in the lines (1/4 inch lines were BAD for it).
The new larger lines are better but a sterile res is the solution.

It will be water, regenaroot and head masta in the rez. All the main nutrients will be in the coco.

As long as one of those is a reservoir cleaner you should be ok.
The regenaroot runs clean however I’m not too sure about the head masta. In the autopot-usa YouTube video, the guy said he was able to run these all in combination without having to clean his lines during the grow.

The garage is being built out and some of my equipment arrived today.

The ac infinity Ionframe EVO3 is lightweight and very bright. I took one out of the box to test and I was impressed. I am expecting more equipment tomorrow.

Even though the room won't be ready for a couple of weeks at a minimum, I decided to start some seeds, albeit probably prematurely. I just want to get things going. I put five Slam Dunks regs and six Spritzer x Blackberry Apple fems in water and will let them sit for 18-24 hours before I transplant them to paper towels.

I always start more seeds than I will need just in case something goes wrong. If I have extra plants then I will use them as moms or I will donate them.

The cat already managed to knock some seeds out of the water which led me to find out that the Spritzer x BA are actually regs so I started all the remaining SxBA seeds I had. I also started three Sleazy Rider fems just in case.

I use autopots with coco/perlite and Jacks.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is to pH the water and never water from the top once the res gets turned on.

If your not running a sterile res I’d recommend cleaning the valves and check the 1/4” fittings for build up monthly. I like to shoot water through the lines with a syringe to help blow out build up.

Good luck!

Thank you for the advice. I'll try to be diligent about cleaning the valves and fitting but it is nice to know that with this regiment it is not totally necessary!

I transferred my seeds to paper towels this afternoon, about 24 hours later than I wanted to. To do this I used a big square of paper towel and folded it in half a few times. I soaked the paper towel under the tap and then squeezed out a lot of the extra water. I wanted it to just be damp but not wet.

Most of the seeds had tap roots already so I will have to plant them in coco/perlite here soon.

Today, I planted the seeds in coco and perlite in solo cups. I watered with tap water until the medium was just moist to the touch. Hopefully I’ll have 16 pop, which would fill my easy2grow veg setup perfectly. One of the Slam Dunk seeds was cracked and I don’t think it will pop.

The autopots arrived today, now I am just waiting for the garage to be completely restored and upgraded. I am going to set up a 2x4 in my house in the meantime. When Area 51 is up and running, I will transplant into 2.2 gallon easy2grow containers with 4 way dividers. The means I will be able to veg 16 plants in four pots. After veg, I will select 6 female plants for the nine gallon fabric pot autopot system and flower in that. I will take clones from each pheno and hold on to them in case any plant is an absolute winner as well.

I ordered three 60w lm301h evo light bars on aliexpress from yxo yuxinou. These lights should help increase yields inside the canopy and provide light for clones.

I will use two light bars for flower and that will bring my total watts of light up to 960w/h for flower.

My goal for the first grow is 5000 grams of fresh frozen to be turned into live rosin. That’s the equivalent of just over a gram per watt in dried flower, or about 6 ounces per plant.

dang boss man i just got done reading your entire thread and you have one killer setup holy smokes! i am so jealous i can just imagine the yields your going to get, your UV light bars do they produce uva? or uvb? its uva right? im just wondering also you should so invest into a rosin press if i had a setup like yours i would be pressing rosin all day long after my harvest lmfao.

Thank you man! I believe they are UVA light bars. As far as a rosin press goes, I will be picking up a 12-ton dabpress and a medium pharmaceutical freeze dryer for live rosin. I’ll order those later though once the plants are switched to flower. Most if not all of the plants grown in Area 51 will be put towards live rosin. I might save a little flower for smoke but not much.

Lets talk goals for Area 51. I will be running 960w of lights for the flowers. I am aiming for a gram per watt, but I will be happy with anything over 0.8 gpw. If I hit 0.8 gpw, that is 768 grams of dried flower. However, everything for the most part is going towards live rosin, and will be frozen wet after harvest. Using a general rule of five grams wet for one gram dry, this is 3,840 grams of fresh frozen. Although the Spritzer x BA is said to wash fresh frozen to live rosin at 6%, I will aim for half that. When all said and done, my goal for each flower run is 4 ounces of live rosin. If I really have things dialed and it washes at 6% like advertised, it could end up being a pound of live rosin each run, which would be sweet. That is assuming a 1.6 gpw yield and 6% to live rosin. I hope to keep things going perpetually, so I am aiming to harvest every 72 days. To do this I will need to transplant the vegetative plants within a day ow two of harvest and then veg for two to three weeks. I will chop my plants no later than 8 weeks into 12/12, but I am looking to see trichomes of all three types and that will tell me it is time to harvest.

I forgot to mention that this will be a sealed room and I will be supplementing CO2 in the grow with a Mother Nature CO2 generator bucket that I got along with the autopots.

Please tune in and feel free to comment in here if you have any questions or constructive advice.
