New grow room Autopot grow

Huge sale on at autopot right now. Definitely worth checking out. Bought a couple systems myself. A 6 and 9 pot 15l system. Gonna give them a go. If I don't like them. They will definitely get used outside. I'm going to try organic in them. Precharged Promix 60/20/20 with perlite and hydrocorn. Top dress/tea and hand water every 2 weekish. Gaia Green and amendments. Use the rez as water only. Though a 1/4-1/3 strength feed all the time rez is inviting. Good luck and watching closely. Love it so far.:hump:

I took an old, damaged grow tent inside my house to hold the seedlings when they sprout. Before I took it inside I rinsed it with the hose a few times. There is an EVO3 in there now but it is only turned on for the photo. The plants will stay in my house until the garage is ready.

The a/c and heater should be installed July 26th, so that will be the date that I set everything up in Area 51.

Only 4 of my seeds popped. Three of the SxBA popped up and one Sleezy Rider. This is a disappointment but starting seeds has always been one of the dullest tools in my toolbox. I started more seeds by soaking them in water, just in case. The new seeds I started are Marshmallow Mountain by Exotic Genetics and Slapz by LIT Farms. Hopefully this will ensure I have the right amount of plants when things really get going.

I soaked six MM fems and six Slapz regs. I'm sad that the Slam Dunk didn't sprout and I am just hoping that one of the SxBA is female because that's all I have left of that strain.

Next time, when I transfer to coco and perlite, I won't wait more than 24 hours after putting in a paper towel and I will more properly moisten the coco and add the Beanstalk right away.

It will all turn out okay.

Two things I wouldn't do with Autopots are use organics nutes and top watering. Organic nutrients eventually clog the lines with sludge, even the newer larger lines. You might be good for a few grows but it will happen. It can be prevented with regular line flushing but F that. Autopot literature specifically says not to top water once you have started bottom feeding, as it flushes built up salts into the media and tray.

I have heard this before. Not too worried. I've used Hempys before and fed and watered from the top and bottom. Feed will be only every few weeks with rez running water only. Flush pots every once and awhile if needed. My mix is about 60-65% perlite. Easy flushing.

Only three of the original beans I planted are still living, all of them being SxBA.

I think I did a good job with the other seeds I germinated later. I soaked them for 24 hours in water and then transferred them to paper towel. Another 24 hours later, I transferred them into coco and perlite.

I used 3.5 grams of V-Basis per 12 oz solo cup. For the Slapz, I emptied 6 cups of coco mix into a large bowl and added 21 grams of V-Basis and mixed. I added three cups of water and then distributed the medium back into 6 solo cups. I used a sharpie and made small holes to place the seeds.

For the Marshmallow Mountian, I emptied two cups into the bowl and added 7 grams of V-Basis and a cup of water while mixing. I did this to hopefully more evenly distribute the V-Basis.

I think I may have added about 50% too much V-Basis to all of these plants due to bad math, so I am hoping that they turn out alright. Besides that, some of the MM seeds have already popped above the medium.

V-Basis is a vegetative nutrient that you add to coco and it will provide fertilizer for all of veg. I am worried that you probably shouldn’t use it before the seedlings have rooted, and like I said, I used way too much so I am hoping that everything turns out okay. I’m making a lot of little mistakes so far that I need to tighten up. We shall see.

The new seedlings have already popped up and are just waiting to shed their shells.

In the meantime, I bought a pH meter to make sure I am feeding at the correct pH. Long story short, I wasn't. Hopefully getting the pH corrected before too late will stop the plants from having slow growth but I didn't give them the best shot because I was watering with a high pH. Using a pH probe is important and I should not have tried to go without one. I am aiming for a pH of 5.9 in coco for veg.

My newest lights from China also made it to my house. These are 60w lm301h EVO light bars from a company called YXO YUXINOU that I will be using for clones and supplemental side lighting in flower, once I figure out the best way to mount them. These are 3000K + 5000K + 660 nm + 395 nm + 730 nm, which means they have far reds and blues to help the plant in flower. They are very bright lights for only being 60w each.

Sorry I've been away. The grow is still going on.

Area 51 should be ready by the end of September but for now I am transplanting into the easy2grow 4 system.

I have four plants that are not showing male parts. This is perfect because this setup has 4 pots. The plant in the back right of the tent (bottom right of photo) is the Marshmellow Mountain (fem). All the other plants are SxBA (reg). I lucked out there by getting three plants that could be female.

The only plant that was showing male bits was the Slapz. No biggie. It was the saddest plant anyway.

Saw that article or whatever on that beanstalk slow release and I’m interested to see how it works out. Just decided on a single 5 gal organic sip for now but mostly do coco and trying to switch it up. Following along :bigjoint:

One of the reasons I am doing this journal is because there is very limited information online. Glad to have you!

Transplant day.

I got all four plants potted. I used a coco/perlite mixture that is 70/30. For 2.2 gallons of coco I used 55g of V-Basis by Beanstalk. I also used dynomyco with various methods. I think in the future I like rubbing it on the roots and pouring some in the hole the best.

The plants are in an easy2grow 4 system for veg.

I added the cloudforge humidifier to help get my VPD right in the tent.

Bingo.

Bingo.
Sitting your temp/humidity unit too close to your pots inflates %RH.

The probe to the humidifier is hanging and that controller doesn't actually control anything but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!
The probe is probably only the the outside temp sensor. Humidity sensor inside unit.

Your plants are going to love to stretch their legs in the setup. Fun times ahead.:hump:

Oh, sweet okay I thought it was a humidity probe but that makes sense.

And I'm looking forward to it!

The cat already managed to knock some seeds out of the water which led me to find out that the Spritzer x BA are actually regs so I started all the remaining SxBA seeds I had. I also started three Sleazy Rider fems just in case.
Well I'm sorry it happened but it's 1 of your first lessons learnt. Do what it takes to keep animals away

Yeah the seeds were in the cabinet and the cat jumped in it lol. Not my first lesson I've been doing this off and on for 10 years now.
