So the time has come. I must do this right, with a professional approach and a sponge-like dome. I couldn't wait any longer to start a journal since my seeds just arrived today. Let's do the checklist for this year.


  • G13 (i know i'm a retard) Northern Lights x Super Skunk - 10 feminized. Free White Widow Feminized and Free G13 Thai S-Skunk :roll:

  • IN MAIL: Making up for my newb mistake of vendor choice, I decided to go with Green House Arjan's Ultra Haze #1 - 5 feminized, with Free G13 Thai S-Skunk.
= 16 feminized + 10 regular = 26 seeds

  • Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil with Fox Farm Nutes (i'll be purchasing these within a week or two.) :mrgreen:

  • Bought the book Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Marijuana Bible, now on page 98, went through every page with highlight marker making sure to note important things for outdoor growth. ;-)

  • I plan on buying a pH scale, perlite, vermicilite, Thermometer/Humidity, at a seperate time after I buy the soil. If the store seems low profile, I might do it all at once, but i'll probably stray from that.

I'll be putting these underneath a fluorescent from last year (crap I have to find that) for the seedling stage until about a month before last frost. I heard I need a lot of time to grow the Ultra Haze so I'm trying to get them started ASAP, but they haven't arrived in the mail yet. :sleep:

Quick question to anyone willing, I might need to buy another fluorescent light big/strong enough for 26 seeds (prob less after germination) but don't want to spend a fortune since most of their lifetime will be outdoors.

Also, if anyone thinks I could use anything for the outdoor stank, I heard fresh mulch and rosemary maybe masks it? Let me know if I left any stone unturned. :dunce:

I was going to post some pics of my seeds and some great looking Headies I just picked up, but only camera I have right now is my shitty cell phone one. I'll remedy that in the next following weeks.

PS: is it ok to just store my NL x Skunk seeds in my drawer or should I keep them in a fridge/freezer? Like I said, my Haze isn't here yet and I want to germinate all 26 at once.

Just use 42 watt cfl's to veg. They're 8 bucks

And i just keep my seeds anywhere and they are fine.

Thanks a bunch man, appreciate the input. I'll go checkout some CFLs tomorrow @ Home Depot. The seeds are getting the pillow next to me on my bed.



Edit: I recently found this in my basement, it looks strong, but I have no idea what type of light it is. Help me out if anyone can. It looks like a construction light and it says, "CAUTION: Do not exceed 150 watts" blah blah, so I'm sure it's a 150 watt ballast or something iuno.

CFL's screw into regular light fixtures, no need to buy a ballast.

And for the light im not sure find the product info and look it up

Rad screw it then I'm going to just get me some CFLs since I have 2 lamps just lying around. Thanks for the help.
 
Ok I've decided to go out in the next couple days and buy some CPL lights. I'll get 2 of them most likely and throw them all in my closet, seedlings will be in some plastic cups with Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil.

Anyone have any suggestions for stuff to line the closet with? Something I could pick up maybe at Walmart or maybe Home Depot? :dunce:

Ok so I'm going to buy some mylar once I go out to get the CFLs and the soil. I plan on posting relatively soon with pictures of my closet setup for the seedlings to grow.

Well my Arjan's Ultra Haze #1 arrived in the mail today with the free Thai Super Skunk.

I'll be heading out to make the necessary purchases on Tuesday/Wednesday.

haha yea I still have snow everywhere also, but I figure mid to late April will be good enough to throw them outside. I'll be doing the seedlings in my closet with some CFLs until the weather gets better. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it man, still a total newb but learning a lot.

Go to Walmart and look at the wraping paper(the shiny Kind) it is colored on one side and silver mylar on the other
works good and is cheap

Oh snap, thanks for the advice, I've got a Walmart just a few miles away. :-o

Any advice on buying CFLs? I've got lamps to screw them into :hump: but was wondering if Walmart would have em too or should I head to Home Depot?

Also, if I'm planning on growing outdoors after the seedling stage, what's the best grow medium for the seedling stage? Should I get those little thingys (can't remember name super noob) that they use to grow with hydroponics? Or should I just use the Fox Farm soil I plan on purchasing and putting them in a big plastic cup, like the one's you play beer pong with?

Thanks again for any advice, Tuesday/Wednesday should be the day I go out to make all the purchases. :blsmoke:
 
Sunmaster lights flouresents this give you the opsion off adding has many lights has you want these come with a ballast £15.00 each i have 5 of these and have at least 60 clones under it at anytime.i would go for 1 250 hps instead of spending that much on all these flouresents these are perfect for clones and veging.

With the frost hitting in mid October, I wouldn't want to harvest a month prematurely and get leafy, THC scarce buds.

I think I'm going to save the Arjan's Ultra Haze #1 and purchase some of the beautiful Mandala #1 or the Hashberry both by Mandala seeds. I've heard great great things about this vendor/bank and both of these strains were designed for outdoor growth.

I'm probably going to purchase the Mandala #1 since it's got a higher yield, THC percentage and can handle the Northern Hemisphere a little better.

Anyone have any opinions or past experiences with these strains, or even just Mandala? Thanks again guys, been a great help so far.

the light you found in the basement is a construction light . very bright high intensity and very hot, and put off some heat

I plan on it brah but you have to respond to my last post. I'm getting all the information until I go out Tuesday/Next week to get supplies.

If I stick with the Ultra Haze #1 (12-13 weeks of flowering) I might not be able to even get a decent harvest. I might just go grab the supplies for the seedling grow indoors, then order the Mandala #1 (8-9 weeks) which is guaranteed amazing buds.

Either way I'm going to buy all the supplies for everything mostly tomorrow and the next week, i'll throw some picks up then.
