i live in the mountains, antennas do nothing here. you can't even get dish tv where we live, the "window" is too narrow
I live in the mountains as well and used to work for a satalitte company. Worked in places like that.

Are you in the bottom of a holler surrounded completely?

You would be surprised at what you can make work.

I've seen satalitte dishes mounted 100 foot in the air to get over mountians.

Sucks though if you can't get tv.

I think it's antenna.org that you put your address in and it shows what stations and how far and even what elevation to put the antenna.

We have pretty much the same 4 broadcast channels we did 40 years ago, but since they are digital, each one has 3-4 sub-channels. Sister and BIL use an antenna, and they get 12-15 channels if the weather is right.

Sister is a Denver Bronco fan, and she will come over to our house to watch the games. She will call and say, "I'm coming over to watch the game, is that alright?" Neither the wife nor I are big NFL fans, and it's a pain in the ass having company that was not planned, watching a game we wouldn't be watching except for them. Plus she has made snide comments in the past about folks who pay for TV.

I have Dish, and often the FSU basketballs games are on a broadcast channel out of Panama City that I don't get. I always kid about going over to watch the game at their house. But I just end up listening on the radio.
It varies by area.

Hell I'm in the mountains and bought my mom one of those cheap rotating antennas of Amazon and it gets about 12-15 channels.

The bigger antenna would get more.

Go to antenna.org and check what degrees the stations are and then use a compass and see if any stations line up with the gaps.

It may not be possible. Then again it might be. I got a buddy that is in the same situation.

Maybe not the place, but you guys have stirred something in me, I think they call it hope. Tomorrow I will be starting my first legal recreational grow. Public sales will not happen until October/November or later. Being the first legal grow that I have ever started, I gotta say it feels good. This thread has enlightened me and has assuaged many fears, not for Canada per se, but the impact of a Trump presidency upon the world, wholly. To know that this is definitely an anomaly of politics relieves me of much stress. My sister and BIL are dual citizens and live in Cali, I worry about them often. Knowing that the tide is turning, that the people here are just as (or more) appalled by the direction North America is taking is heartening. I dont want to derail this thread, rather only, I am feeling this heavy today. Hope you do too. Light em up. Cheers.
