New Beginnings for Massachussetts and I

I noticed that it is an 8 1/2 -10 week strain. Do you do anything special so is ready at 8 1/2 weeks or is that just a result of hydro?
Warmer, humid conditions. More intense lighting. Higher nutrient levels. CO2. Shorter days and longer nights. Apply all these and you'll definitely accelerate the finish.

Happy New Year fellow Massholes!!!!

So what's everyone up to with grows?

My current crop is made up of 2 TGA strains, PennyWise and Hurkle, both 1:1 CBD blends. The Pennywise is an Indica and the Hurkle is a Sativa. I'm growing them in one tent, so hopefully the canopies will behave.

Here they are at roughly 2 weeks into flower and post de-leafed.

Been steady cranking-outside this summer sucked***- Had some beauties going- and then the dreaded BUD ROT- should of had 5+ big units-ended with 1 1/2 units- but life goes on- Still grinding inside- just need to get LED"ed upgraded- slow down the electric- got 4 by 8' & 5 by 5 tents- any suggestions to cover both? Been using 2 600wt HPS in big tent & 4 300 Viparspectre in the 5 by 5.

My gorilla bomb run. I'm at day 23 of 12/12 now. I usually do a PK run at day 15 through 19 to stop the stretch but I had extra room so I am going to wait until week 5. Finally they're slowing their stretch.

Here are some pictures from today. cobs + t5 uv ftw.
Our group has shrunk-no Mom, Stebbins,Chad- still have Bos & me- still trying to upgrade to led- just have to research hard-all advice is welcome- need to cover 4 by 8 and 5 by 5 tents- 5 by 5 would be first.Learned hard lesson on overcrowding in my 5 by 5- 8 plants- got less yield than I did on my 1st grow in 2 by 4 with 2 burples - used to getting 25-30 tops with each plant-this round ,maybe 3-4 bananas-Never stop learning- HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Doing 2 bubble bomb 1 atomic and an auto berry bomb. I kind of neglected them with the holidays and bad weather.

They are recovering from a big mistake. I didn't calibrate my pH meter for 6 months and when I did I got only errors. Bought a new meter.

Feed pH was 6.3. runoff was 4.9. OUCH. No wonder they had deficiencies since the beginning. Now they are starting to recover though the auto is 4 weeks into flower so will suffer bad.

Yeah, I wondered where everyone went. I guess its not unusual for people to try something new and lose interest for whatever reason.

As for the LED's, I'm using QB's. It seems there is a fairly even split between the folks who use cob's and those that use boards/strips, at least among the diy crowd. I guess it comes down to what you can get the parts for and how you are going to spread them out.

If I were going to upgrade, I'd probably stick to boards or strips; it just seems to be where the innovation is these days. Don't know which one though, I haven't been looking closely.

Massachusetts federal prosecutor will not rule out busting pot businesses

BOSTON (Reuters) - Massachusetts’ top federal prosecutor will not rule out prosecuting businesses dealing in marijuana, he said on Monday, less than a week after the Trump administration rescinded an Obama-era policy easing enforcement in states that legalized the drug.

Massachusetts is one of eight states whose voters have legalized use of recreational marijuana, which remains illegal under federal law. Legal retail sales of the drug were to begin in Massachusetts this year under the terms of a voter initiative passed in 2016.

“Deciding, in advance, to immunize a certain category of actors from federal prosecution would be to effectively amend the laws Congress has already passed, and that I will not do,” U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said in a statement posted on Twitter. “The kind of categorical relief sought by those engaged in state-level marijuana legalization efforts can only come from the legislative process.”

The U.S. Justice Department on Thursday rescinded a policy put in place under Democratic President Barack Obama that limited enforcement of marijuana laws where the drug had been legalized, currently California, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Nevada and Maine. Maine has not yet cleared the way for retail sales.

In a way, Sessions may have done us all a favor. If you recall, during his confirmation hearings he said that his job is to enforce the laws... and if there’s a problem with federal marijuana laws it’s up to Congress, not the judiciary to fix it.
By forcing the issue, I predict that there will be bipartisan support for revising the federal marijuana laws in the near future.
There’s too much money in play for politicians to try to unring the legalization bell.
I’m just sayin’. ......

Maybe if the dems win the house, and hopefully the senate. Then they can send a stream of bills to the stable genius who might just sign them if you flatter him in some way. All they need to do is call the The Great Donald Trump States Rights to Grow Act of 2019..... He might even resign if you send him a bill asking him to agree by signing it if you give it a catchy enough name......

Yeah, the nf is finicky. I finally got it dialed in and healthy, but found it doesn't like a lot of light or low humidity. The tacoing/cupping in your pic looks like heat/light stress. I also found the nf to have a lot of internodal spacing, which hurt yields.

But on the bright side, it's a great smoke. Very fruity........

Note to self. Calibrate or replace pH meters often. When you feed under 5.0 for 4-6 weeks with a 70 day auto, results can be disastrous. I figure I may get about an ounce. It is my only Berry bomb.

My Atomic plant has lived up to its name. It is the only plant I topped yet it it's 20% taller than any of the others. It recovered from the low pH before I flipped it.

My 2 bubble bombs (also photos) are very dense with wide leaves. One is stretching but the other still looks a little weak. Only had a %50 germination rate on these.
