Hey guys, just a public service announcement. Someone on youtube (Mr. Grow It - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxRqSUclO2n5BHzV_Bc3GYQ) is posting up a beer cup challenge. I coincidentally have some clones I threw into 12/12 to sex them. Some are promised to someone here for mothers but I may take one of the others and try this. They are already in 12/12 so if they root female all I have to do is xplant them to a solo cup.

My poor plants. I think I'm having a Cal Mag issue. Just fed them 3 ml Cal Mag and 3 ml a + b yesterday. They seem to be recovering. I think the biggest problem was that I did a flush last weekend without any nutrients. I thought they were in PH lockout. Even though I used proper pH and hydroguard, I think the flush made a Cal Mag deficiency even worse.

First time growing in Coco second time growing ever. Yesterday, pH going in is 5.5. pH going out is 6.2. PPM in with nutrients is 411. PPM out is 199. That seems to indicate a high pH for Coco and low nutrients.

I also could not help myself and topped all three of them. Just the little tiny tippity top. First time ever topping and it felt cruel. I'll probably have to top them at least one more time as well as bondage to keep them short enough.

My cookie beans in the airpots still have not popped their heads out. Floated them 3 days ago and put them in Coco two days ago. If I don't see them tonight, I'll start to worry. I hope I don't end up with one or more plants a week behind the other because I had to drop new seeds.

Woot Woot!!!!

Chopped the little ww darlings down and they have begun their dry cycle 9+ weeks after the flip. Seeds were popped 1/1. Yeah, I started from seed and vegged for a while. ;) I am very ready for them to clear the tent and get smoked.

Don't know how I will fair yield wise, probably not about a pound, but hey, it's only a 3x3 tent and my very first grow; if it's close to 8 oz dry I'll be happy. And I finished. Phew. A lot of larf, I need to lollipop more. But it will make good tincture. But no bugs I couldn't deal with (and no harsh pesticides)

Now on to bodhi and ocean grown if I can keep them from bursting out of my starter tent before I can go to jars. I've brewed up a batch of super soil (a-la soil king soil kit) and I'm going to try sip containers.

I think I have 5 confirmed females and want to keep it to 4. No confirmed males yet. Worst case I'll deep crop the extras and mother them until I need clones.

And yes, my wife is ready to have me committed. My son on the other hand, is being very grabby. ;)

wow, house smells now!

I think next time I will try another method~take off all wet buds, put them on my hanging dry net, and dry inside my tent with the fan and filter.
House will still smell. ;) At least until the initial aroma dissipates.

That's what I did. Cut to branches and hung those on a net in my tent. The whole house smelled. Once I closed the tent there was no new smell, but it took a while for the initial smell to fade.

I've since added a room scrubber so hopefully that lingering smell won't be as bad.

New MA commission stuff going on? Just got "We need your help to make sure the Cannabis Control Commission is accountable and efficient! Please call House Speaker Robert DeLeo at 617-722-2500 and tell him the following: (1) you want to keep the Cannabis Control Commission under the control of the state treasurer; and (2) you want the state treasurer to make the majority of board appointments." on my wall.

can you dry in the tent if there are other plants growing? humidity is low and temp averages 78.
can buds dry in the light?

The closest thing to an answer I found was this. I saw it on the internet so it must be true. Lol

"It's important to keep your bud out of the light for several days after harvest because the plant is still alive and trying to produce all it's necessary functions by using light. One of the functions is to produce chlorophyll and carbohydrates and the continued production of these elements effect the taste of the pot, giving it a harsher, greener taste. Dark, slow, careful drying is the key."

That is also why it is helpful to keep it in the dark for 2 days before harvesting. That way it stores the carbohydrates in The Roots.

Sometimes I also put a nail through the stock 2 days before Harvest.

I put my plant in the dark closet 24 hours before I chopped. Guess I keep my closet and buy more air freshener! LOL

Have you done any foliar sprays? Hopefully its just residue and not pm (not saying it's either).

Also, back to smell, you can put a small 4" fan on a carbon filter in your closet. It will smell clean as a spring day and the air movement will prevent bud rot/mold..

what is pm? i just looked it up on internet, powder mildew. yes, was spraying her with a powder nute in it...but I wipe the white stuff off and it comes back. sigh. She is in a nice roomy tent, lots of light, and I clean up any water. Dont know why it would be mildew, but I am going to be proactive and follow this advise I found on ilovemarajuana.com:

"Treatment~ If you do end up having a powdery mildew problem, one way to solve the problem is at home. One home remedy is 2 teaspoons of organic apple cider vinegar mixed with one quart of water. Mist this mixture onto your plants to both kill the powdery mildew growth and prevent any more from cropping up. It can also be used preventatively before any powdery mildew arises at all."

I have some organic apple cider vinegar with the mother in it...will mix some up now with some water and give her a little spray bath, LOL

I dont have cash right now to get fan and filter. maybe i can come up with something homemade :-)

I got this response from a long time member on autoflower.net after I posted some closeups:

"thanks luv, you got no vermin, that's all residue from that damn powdered nute foliar,... if it dries crusty, it can stick pretty well and be tough to remove,..I suggest a clear water rinse, preferably with RO/Di water, with some wetting agent,.. (Coco-Wet is a great one)... this stuff takes the surface tension out of the water or solution you're spraying, so it coats and sticks more evenly,.. it great for any foliar application, including bug killers, as it help penetrate their natural water repellency"

PHEW!!
