Need Urgent Help Stunted Growth!!

Wuz up peeps?? I have one fem that is in a 1 gallon pot. It stands about 3 feet tall and the buds are small. I think I messed up by not putting it in a bigger pot. Im not sure though. This is my first time growing so i really want the most out this plant. What shouuld I do to help it move along?? I mean it's already Oct. and its gettin colder by the day so please give me some suggestions before it's to late. I will also snap some photos and post them. Maybe someone can identify the strain. I got the seed from a bag of swag from my weekly sack i purchase every week.
Oh!! Should I still transplant and give the fem a lil feedin of fert??

yeah 1gal isn't sufficient, 3 or 5 or even bigger would be better.
It's too late for a transplant now tho, so just next time get a bigger one.

Thanx 4 the reply. Like I said im new 2 all this, but i can say that I planted the seeds in the middle of may. Someone said that it is never to late to transplant so now im confused. I checked my plant this morning and there are buds all over the place, but they don't seem full and as big as most plants i have seen. I gave it some water and just a lil fert to help it. I can't send a pic untill next week cuz the plant is in a location to where i only visit twice a week. I can say that the pant does stink to high heaves. I guess thats good. So what should I do now wit the plant??

You ask me what to do, I dunno man, you didn't give me any details or a pic to work with, how am I suppose to suggest anything?

Just because they smell doesn't mean anything as far as they are doing well, a sick plant smells too.
Have one that had mold and at the time it smelled like cat piss and i figured that was just it's dank smell as Id had others smell kinda like it, not near as strong.
I think the mold made that smell because after I killed the mold, I killed the cat piss smell.
