Here's a trick I developed to help my cloning success -- instead of one rockwool cube per clone I use 2.
Take 2 cubes next to each other and fold them together. Instead of a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inch cube I have a
single cube 1 1/2 x 3 inches. I use 2 rubberbands to hold the cubes together. Stand the cube up in a clear
plastic cup so it stands 3 inches high. Now you have twice as much depth in which to plant the clone stem.
This lets you take larger clones too without fear of them falling over. Better yet, go to eBay and buy a
sheet of 2 inch rockwool cubes. Doubled over they fit nice and snug in a plastic cup for their trip into the
dome. Keep enough water in the dome so that the inside of the dome is covered in condensation every morning
you check. As soon as you don't find the dome inside covered is time to put more water in the dome.

I drip a bit of water onto the cube when I first put it into a cup. If you keep water in the dome you should only
have to water the cube directly once or maybe twice for their 2 week trip in the dome.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Root gel is not needed mate. presoak you rockwool 24hr in advance (ph issues) in a little NoShock 5ml/L and you can also add Greenfuse root as well at 1ml/L. (I also like voodoo j)

Also mist with greenfuse root and noshock.

Never 'over wet' rockwool or it will struggle to hold oxygen, less is more...think damp.

Try to take cuttings 3 weeks into mother plant's 12/12 so to monster crop from the cuttings and remember to use cube caps...essential if you dont want slime n shit.

Week 1: 1 x 100w household energy saver.

Week 2: 2/3 x 100w household energy savers.

Week 3: Big healthy thick white roots coming out the bottom of 4" rockwool with very few yellow leaves and is ready for light veg food.

Some strains can go straight to 12/12 (WW in my case) under other lighting methods or continueing 18/6 in huge E40 cfl's that has many benifits in veging and is usually highly recommended as only a few small household energy savers have served their purpose by this stage!

Very simple but very effective and works like clockwork time after time.

Some other growers may have other/quicker methods but this works for me in my northern european climate.

Happy days and happy christmas!:weed::weed::weed::weed::weed::weed::weed::weed::weed:

u dont need cloning gel for the bubbler either it just speeds up the process. lmao. in all honesty u can clone without gel it just takes longer in my opinion and takes a longer turn around time to get them healthy again. my clones are ready for coco fast and they are still green as hell. i started giving my plp and skywalker tops full strength nutes pretty much right away becuz of how healthy they still were. in rooters or cubes i always have to nurse them back to life before pounding them with nutes.

my clones are done and ready to be planted and nuted by day 15 genereally. depending on where i take the clone from. ur saying it takes about a month with ur method before u can fully veg the.. whats up with that. maybe look into a faster turn around time or something?

Sorry, im a stoner lol i put an extra week lol I'll edit that. It takes around 3 weeks for 4" roots if you monstor crop in my northern climate. Some will be in warmer climate and get it sooner.

they dont have to be neoprene. as long as its soft but sturdy enough to hold the cutting in place. u can use a neoprene play mat. think my little sister has one. pretty cheap. just cut a bunch of circles out of it. lol.

Do you have patience? It will take longer to root using the method below but I had 11/12 success rate. Superthrive is 6,99 at Walmart (though I don't shop there I got mine from a local shop).

  • Tools: 2ft 2bulb T5 light, 2 clear plastic shoebox containers ($1.25 each Subcool's method) clay pellets, Superthrive, ph 6.0 water, scissors and razor blade

My last run was an experiment, I took clones using pete pellets, ph'd 6.0 water and a little dab of Superthrive, that's all. took 12 days for the first to show root, 20 days before I transplanted the last one, a SSH that was still now showing roots, but looking so healthy and I needed the space. A sick Purple Trainwreck plant I actually pitched right after cloning it, I was able to take 1 cut and it seems to be doing ok in soilless.

The larger cuttings had burned/dying tips of the top leaves, I'm sure due to not using a cloning gel or other cloning product, I thought I was losing them but I let em go and they rooted. I wouldn't recommend doing it this way but if you had to you could

yeah im with wheels i made one and have had a 100% success rate so far. you can get rooting powder from home depot or lowes its in the same area as the liquid plant food and such its cheap like $5 but it works or if you dont want to spend any money you can make a rooting hormone made from willow branches i tried that before the rooting powder and they perform about the same although i bet if i threw some cuttings in my cloner w no hormone or rooting powder theyd still pop that thing works great

ive had success with just tap water in my cloner. couldnt find the rooting concentrate. lol. i hid it behind my box in between it and the wall. its a heavy bastard to move when u got plants in it. lol.

im tellin u as a noob its ur best bet. less can go wrong. super easy and reliable and it takes little effort to get great results. if the water level goes a little low all u do is add more reg water. i have used the same water in my cloner for like two weeks one time cuz i was to lazy to drain it and mix up the new rooting solution. lol. shhh. dont tell anyone. the weed vets might get mad. lol.
