Need help with cutting clones

I'm about to attempt to cut clones for the first time from my White Widow and Purple Trainwreck. Unfortunately where I am at I cannot buy root gel anywhere but I have heard Vitamin B-1 will suffice. Is this true? I also cannot buy the cocoa cubes here but I can get rockwool. Are rockwool cubes just as good? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Rockwool will work, after you insert the cutting be sure to cover the top of the wool from the light. It will get slimy and nasty if you keep it wet and exposed to light. Not sure about substituting for cloning gel though. Youre not able to use Ebay? Really cheap and easy.

Hey thanks I will definitely keep that in mind about the rockwool. What should I cover it with? I didn't realize they sold rooting gel on E-Bay but I will check it out. Am I screwed if I can't get it though?

Not screwed, just got to figure out a substitute i guess. Clonex is what i use with great success. For covering the rockwool just use a heavy duty black garbage bag cut into small squares with a slit in it. Once youve inserted the cutting just slide the plastic over the wool right at the base of your cutting.

iv bought an airoponic propergater and a water heater... now there in bags in my loft lol dont get me wrong they work very well but the downfalls on them are the size and space they take up for the sake of 40 cuttings you could fit 200 cuttings in thatspace using basic propergaters the maintanance of them isnt good then when they root you have to shock them buy squashing bare roots in to a pot while trying to make sure it stays up rite not worth the sake of a few more days in a basic propergater, i dont use heat mats either as long as its comfortable enough in the room to wear a t shirt the small amount of heat from ur white lights will keep them warm enough,
you dont NEED rooting hormone gel but it goes a long way i would nt bother taking cuttings with out it but i have done and they do root but they take a long time durin wich alot of the less healthier cuttings will die and ur survival rate will be at about 50/50 when it should be about 90/10
dont bother with rockwool its shit takes forever use peat cubes

there 20 times better i add a tiny amount of ryhzotonic or plant magic root booster to the water that i soak the cubes in but you dont need anything but water with peat cubes and the root from them is always thick and fiberous, btw there more round then cube i just call em cubes

thats why i made my own. 8 sites and its 8 inches wide and 13 inches deep. works like a charm everytime. no issues whatsoever. with clones in it its like 8 or 9 inches tall max. great space saver in my veg box compared to a cloning tray being 2+ ft long and what 16 inches wide not to mention 14 inches tall if not taller. lol.
