Hello all .Looking to do a setup for under 200. That would include everything needed. I was also told to get a book called Buds for less. how to grow 8oz's for under $100. I wanted to know if that was really possible. If so i was going to do a papaya or mango. thanks for any help

not if you plan on doing more than ust one plant other that that you will spend more than 200 on youre build so yeah it really matters on how much you want to grow

Actually it is possible, you would be extremely suprissed at what I pulled of from my first grow ever.

It involved buying stuff, the returning it to get other things, then returning that when I was done. hhaha it was interesting for sure.

Best Way to go is this. IMO

The $200 recipe:

Home Depot:
5 4 foot t8 shop lights ($8.32 each) $45.00
a 10 pack of t8 5000k 4 foot bulbs $30.00

OR

$119.00 Plus shipping and handling

4 5 gallon buckets ($4 each, $5 with lid) $25
use lid under bucket to catch runnoff, and drill holes in bottom of bucket
2 rolls of aluminum tape (~$7 each) $15

Or

$.49 5 gallon grow bags total $2.50 these come from grow store

Stuff to hang lights (FREEBIE do this on the cheap somehow)

LOCAL Grow Store:
1 bag of Fox Farm Ocean Forest Postting soil $20

Get FOX farms Grow Big Veg nute ($15 for a quart)
Get Fox Farms Big Bloom nute for flower ($15 a quart)

1 PH test kit $5 or if you wanna splurg tell em you only have $45 and want a ph pen, they will most likely give you a milwakee pen which works fine.

There you go bud

Thanks alot. I was thinking about doing 2. and that book says you can use compact florescent bulbs and it has a day by day approach. I was just curious i guess i will try out the book and inform you all with up to date pics

GG's advice is spot on!

Though I'd not go for a case of lights, but a 1/2 and 1/2 of cool vs warm lights for the veg vs flowering parts. (but for ultra low buck, go for the warm/flowering lights. The extra 'umph' of a veg light isn't warranted for low-buck grow. We smoke buds, not leaves. They veg fine on flowering lights.)

Also might add in FF Tiger Bloom and a jar of molasses.

I think a lowryder #2 will be good for my first. Im going to get the book 8oz for 100 bucks for my papaya. I wanted to know how many watts on a compact should i look for. And do compacts put off less heat?

You can get those high output cfl shoplights from home depot called flourex for pretty cheap. I like GG's Idea buy it then return it lol

It really is amazing what you can use for like 2 months then return, places with 90 day return policies.

If you ever get store credit because you past the 90 day mark, just sweep the parking lot for cash reciepts, then buy some of the items on the cash reciept with the store credit and return em using the new reciept.

Haha
