Need help with 1 week old transplanted clones

I have 1 week old transplanted clones in 1 gal pots. They are under a mars II 1600. At first I had the light about 2 feet above and since have moved it to 3.5 feet above due to 1 plant having the leaves , since removed, showing heavy phospherous def. Signs by turning dark brown and curling back.

I though that maybe the light was causing too much transpiration. I have since cut back to 16/8 light, raised the light, and they look a little better.

I have a humidifier and can only get 40-55% rh at about 75-79 temps. I have an AC unit as well causing more dehumidifying, but I had no choice as my temps could not get below 84 otherwise. I have a 400cfm 6inch outake and 230cfm 4 inch intake both on speed control to low since the ac is also now outaking.

I have only watered twice so far, once on transplant with a runoff to get some nutes out, and then once 5 days later just RO water. Using FFOF, added Perlite and Dolomite lime. I do a daily foliar with epson salt, 1 tsp per gal diluted.

I did finally get ph up and down and tested 2nd runoff at ph 5.9. I know I need to get ph to 6.2-6.4 but I also do not want to overwater. I need them to get the phospherous as the stems are all very purple and they still show signs of def. But at a much slower pace.

Should I just flush them with RO ph adjusted to about 6.8 when they are dry to get ph in soil to 6.4 ish? Should I add some kelp or even a 1/8 strength of bloom nutes to get phospherous in there? I know my VPD is off, but I cannot get it better than 75-79 at 40-55%. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Did the mother have any deficiencies? You might think about removing the Epsom salt foliar if you are using d-lime already, unless you have mag. issues.

I got the clones from a clinic. There are 2 Blue Dreams and 3 Samoas. All of them show signs however the BD are much less and show a decent growth. I believe the thinner Sativa leaves are dealing with the transpiration better due to less surface, as they seemed less affected by the initial light issue and did not curl like one of the Somoas did.

I was thinking the epsom at a small amount mighy help with the uptake more than the mg. Should I stop only foliar and add to RO feed or stop all together?

Also forgot to mention the room is 4x5x9.

Thanks for the reply.

Depending on how much D-lime went into your soil mix, you should have magnesium covered. Sounds like you may want to stop foliar spraying. A good Phosphorous amendment to the soil couldnt hurt and maybe slow your fan to increase the humidity or tent your clones.

I did 1 cup of dolomite per 1.5 cuft of FFOF and 30% Perlite. I tried to go small thinking I was going to foliar.

I have taken off my outake fan for now since the ac is already outaking. I will switch to just foliar RO for help on RH.

Any advice on the feeding? Wait till dry or try to add some amendment now? I dont want to over water but I also dont want to not address the nute def. I am thinking the best way is to wait until dry and hope they adjust by then, and just given them PH adjusted RO with a little kelp.

I just dont know if I should try to adjust soil ph now with something or wait until a natural feed timing to do so. I figure at 5.9 runoff that cant be helping with uptake and at a high vpd that cant be helping either. Thanks for the help.

Have you checked the pH of the soil? Between 5.5-6.5 will ensure the Phosphorous you add can be utilized. Just use a complete fertilizer,or bat guano or bone meal can be mixed in with soil as you replant sooner than later.

Its not P def. Purple stems usually mean its stressed.
Clones that young and starting out dont need much P so you can scrap that theory .
It takes time for the clones to take to the medium and start growing. Dont feed them yet and reduce watering.

Thanks Buds. You are right, they are perking up a lot more now and the new growth is coming in.
