Hi im new in Hydro and I think Im buying something like thishttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130383217973&ru=http://shop.ebay.com:80/%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570%26_nkw%3D130383217973%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1#ht_703wt_1165. it will be inside a growing tent. my question is how does hydro works, I know that you dont need to use any soil and that it is all water and nutes. My question is, the hydro sistem needs to be always on with the water runing or what, and the other question is, what type of nutes it used?

it works well for clones and seedlings to mid size. I would go single dwc buckets for plants later after using a setup like this. If you bought it already what you would do is measure the water level up to 2" below the netpots keep note of how many gallons you are using. Upgrade an additional pump and airstones for the resevoir as that one sold with surely wont handle 16 Liters / 4 gallons of water. I assume he will send some instructions with the setup. If you are new I would suggest looking into drip systems once you grow successfully in a dwc setup such as this. You would then transfer plant and root to the drip system for maximum growth/yield, but it can also be done in DWC if you do things right however DWC is less forgiving if you don't keep an eye on it. GL

Sorry had to edit it looks smaller than 4 gallons maybe 2.5. Either way add an extra pump and airstone and try to start seeds with coco plugs or some other form of starter NOT rockwool it causes ssues later. Dont use Rockwool.

I agree with SIV3L, that system will eventually be to small for full grown ladies, if you want to grow them where you start them then your gonna need a bigger res. As for the water running all the time... yes, at least until the roots are in the water, but the air stone(s) will be running all the time throughout the grow. As for nutes your gonna need a grow nute as well as a bloom and a micro, General Hydroponics has good nutes to start out with. GL

P.S. here's GH's nute schedule http://www.generalhydroponics.com/genhydro_US/feeding_charts/GO_MYSF-FeedChart.pdf
you dont have to follow it directly but just so you get an idea
