Need Help??? Ask away!

The picture of the plant in the middle of this series is growing at a 45 degree slant. Matter of fact I have another growing at that steep angle also. Had to bend the tallest
plant again cause it's over 6ft. tall. I ask, is it ok to grow your buds sideways? Like I said the plant is at an extreme angle as is and I am pretty sure it will be fine. I had a few
budworms and they destroyed a couple of buds here and there. I guess they are all gone now haven't seen any in weeks now. I think they come out at a specific time and
munch away, but soon depart, after they lay there eggs. I think I did pretty damn good here on my first run...by the way, these plants are all bagseed from mexican
brick weed. Like you said in one of your answers...I too think they are some kind of sativa / ruderalis strain. 4 plants are that way and 2 of them are from some seeds I acquired
in San Fran, Ca. They didn't start budding until three weeks after the others did. I guess those 4 are auto-flowering, but are not like typical ruderalis. So I am thinking sativa / ruderalis hybrid maybe.

1rst grow. i got 6 plants, pro-mix, 5 gallon home depot buckets in a 4x4×7' tent under an aircooled 1000 watt mh. Conditions are 35%humidity 83F day 75F night. The light intensity is too much i could see some chlorophyll bleaching; so i moved it all the way up. i got single cola dominant (white berry) and some low bushes (sensi star) in veg all from seed. I plan on flippn when the white berry are about 2 ft. tall for final height of about 4-4.5ft. Do I need to switch to a HPS for flowering? or would the mh be plenty with no loss of yield? i know if i had like 20 plants id switch but im only growing six medium size ones.

Approx. how much water for 1 ft. tall plants in 5 gal. buckets of promix? last time i gave em 1/2 gallon and they show signs of overwatering.

much respect, i really appreciate the help. :)

It's ok for them to grow sideways, the 45 degree angle is most likely because of the weight of the bud...So I'd give them 1-3 weeks to finish!
Good to hear there's no more bud worm activity!
Keep it coming, and sorry for the late reply! I've been busy with work and my band!

It resembles what you stated above...How about picking up some Botanicare cal/mag, that should fix it!

You could do well flowering with an MH, but with that low number of plants, I would want to get the most out of them...So i'd switch to HPS, better spectrum for flowering and a higher PAR rating...
As for watering, I wait until they're fully dry and water until I see a little bit of runoff, I really don't keep track of the exact amounts of water

I just switched my plants to 12/12 and got both foxfarm big bloom and tiger bloom. These both say to mix in 3 teaspoons per gallon every other watering. Would you start by mixing 3 each or 1.5 teaspoon each? Also, how do you know when to flush your plants before harvesting? I am a first time grower so I dont know what it looks like 2 weeks before harvest. Thank you in advance

start of at .75 teaspoons each(about 1/4 recommended dose) and work your way up in 1/4 intervals every week.

As for flushing, first thing you need to know is your plants genetics, if you don't, try to determine it's genetic make-up by looking for characteristics shown by either indica or sativa plants...If it looks more indica, it'll finish in 8-10 weeks, if it is sativa it'll finish at up to 12 weeks.
So, determine genetics and flush 2 weeks before suspected harvest date!

Hello SLB. Thanks for the help in the past. I have a possible problem. So about two weeks ago i topped 2 of my plants. Then about a week ago i put them into 12/12 to flower. The main shoots just below where i topped are still very small. I'd say maybe an inch tall. Is this going to be a problem? I realize that these are supposed to be the new main colas/shoots. I am only a week into flower so they still have time but will they get big enough to produce a good amount of bud? Thanks in advance.

Hello, Im used to cloning so bear with me. I recently started some SLH seeds at a buddys house and they seem to be goin damn good they have there first set of true leaves and are working on the second set. Im using root riot cubes and im not sure when i should transplant into my 1gal pots and am really worried about fucking them up. I even had a nightmare about going to check on them and there all dried to a husk shit, i hate nightmares!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

1) i had plants in 2-2.5 gallon containers right now, will my yeild be shit if i dont put them in 5 gallon?

2) would i be able to use a green cfl to access my grow room while my plants are in a dark period without stress?

I know people who use 3gal. regularly but they do the sea of green methode and the yeild per plant is lower but the amount of plants more than make up for it. I use a 5gal and am now swithching to the 7gal. Thats just me though 5gal. would be plenty.
A green light is great for working in lights off becouse for some reason it doesnt react to the plants photo periode.
I know you wasnt asking me but there you go anyway.

You will probably still yield a descent amount, but it would probably be more if you waited a little bit longer!

Once you see a good amount of roots coming out of the cube, trasplant into the pots!

Thanks for helpin' out on this question!
You can yield pretty good in 2.5-3 gal. bags, but you would probably get more out of 5 gallons...
The green lights are safe to use during the dark period, because plants do not absorb green light, it is just reflected...which is why most plants are green!

Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it. I have one more question, how long do I have from the time that my plant shows it's sex as male to the time that it pollenates my females? I have been flowering for a week now and 2 of my 3 plants have grown pistils. I have to go out of town for 4 days. I assume I should be fine but just want to make sure. Thanks again.
