My new stealth box

Building a new stealth box for flowers.
Using a New Wave 2ft 8lamp fixture, and CFL's on the either side of the T5 fixtures.
Carbon Filter on top, 4 inch inline fan, and false wall on the back for venting the exhaust and having intake.

More pics to come. First pics show disassembly.

Specs are- 39x21x54 (lwh)

Some pics as it comes together, I removed all the drawers, used a reciprocating saw to cut the dividing panels out of the dresser, then table saw to reduce the size.

I then flipped the box on its face so I could reframe the front to act like a door, especially because I lost 0.75 inches on the disassembly due to gaps in the drawers/dividers.

Spaced everything decently evenly, framed it up square to the dresser. And more pics to come.

Added the dividers to the framed door.

Used the drawer bottoms cut into small sections to cover the backs where the gaps between the drawer and divided exist.

Finalized the skeleton with two more uprights to strengthen the door.

Added two hinges that work on 90 degree angle applications to hide the hinge, requires decent pressure to open the door.

Lastly a pic of it coming together looking like a dresser again.

I will be extending the back of the cabinet about 3 inches to make room for the larger t5 hood, creating a false wall to have intake and exhaust as well.

excellent build. i dig it.im currently in the process of making a cab out of an old dresser. 7 26w cfls and two 2ft 20w cfls on the sides. its not alot but itll do in a pinch. for now its night, and i just got my midsized clone tonight. tomorrow when suns up im headed to the depot to get some wood to build a front cover and then put back the drawer fronts with a door. and remove the back panel to put in the inline fan for intake/exhaust as well. should do just fine. ill be posting pics soon

Going to post more pics of the box, extended the back out 3.5 inches. Looking for a quiet inline fan to put on a small carbon filter, also using for my exhaust for the box.. ideas

Drilled into pieces of poplar wood and the dresser, after marking both accordingly. Cut 1 inch sections of dowels, glued and tapped into the new sections with a rubber mallet.

Began framing the back up. Cut the center sections out due to needing extra space for the hood I will be using.

All framed up on the rear. Need to finish building the inside for the ducting and carbon scrubber.

Front view of it open, I put building materials inside of the box to save garage space for now. gonna stain everything "red oak"

Looking at the S&P TD Silent 100 4" inline fan, will it work on small carbon scrubber AND vent the air for my box?

I need a quiet quiet fan that can scrub the air and vent for the box.

the New Wave 28? 2 ft, 8 tube reflector. I will be hanging CFL's on either side as well to give extra lighting.

Still looking for a good quiet fan to use as a scrubber and exhaust. The S&P silent is looking like a winner. Or the Sunleaves Windtunnel even though its taller.

Yo, Assassin nice/clean build my friend. Oh, as far as the TD100 they are nice(I have the TD100 and TD100x), but not dead silent. It all depends where it will be located and i would suggest using the insulated duct(if outside of cab), because you will hear the annoying whirling sound. The S&P's are very durable and quite powerful to be 4" inline fans. Also, make sure you have an old PC power cord so that you can hardwire it. Good luck and will be watching. 1

The original idea was to use 1 2' 8tube reflector, and two 2' 2 tube reflectors mounted perpendicular on either side of the 8tube.. But this gives the idea on how the carbon scrubber/filter fan will be mounted.

Thanks for the input. I wish I had room for the insulated 4 inch ducting, its just too large, I plan to run about 2.5 feet of 4ft ducting through the false wall to get the heat almost out of the box.

I like when people know how to do things. You make the dresser with such accuracy. This is way better when you can design and make the box as it is designed. It's easier to make stuff when you know how to use tools. +rep and subbed

Thanks for the awesome complements. I wish I really knew how to do woodwork. I really wish I could extend the molding and the top of the dresser to make it look perfect, but I am not a woodworker by any means.

I will post pictures of my veg box when I have that finished.

Anyone have any ideas for the box? I have super stealth locks for the front, you would never guess, and I am not posting it either hah.

Still contemplating a 400W HPS in the box. Even though I would definitely have to do some LST which I don't want to do.
