Yeah. I've read a bit about pollination here lately just because i came across it in my books. Seems like the hardest part of the whole thing to me is not contaminating everything else. If you harvest seeds from a hermie doesn't the 50/50 male/female ratio go male/hermie instead? Lol....to me hermies are like plants with a terrorist cell on them somewhere. Ridiculously hard to find and the potential to contaminate/destroy everything around them through biological weapons. I've been reading the breeding chapters in my books quite a bit and when you add genetics IMO it adds a whole new complex level to growing. with phenotypes an genetic strength and all that... some of its kinna hard to wrap your head around if you otherwise have no genetic experience. I think the best way to harvest pollen is in a hepa or real carbon filtered filtered system completely separate from the female system With the hepa or carbon filter on the exhaust. The books say pollen can travel for miles.
Around here bud with seeds aren't worth as much as buds without. I finally ordered my first real strain...lol....and got 9 free seeds to go with it..The one i ordered was blue haze. For free i got sharksbreath, rocklock, warlock, motivation, chronic, sour cream, sour kush, sensistar, and wappa. Any knowledge on any of these strains is greatly appreciated yall. The only good strain report i found on blue haze was a guy that germed 20 and got 6 females. So im thinking ill be germing all of them as soon as they get here. Is mixing all those strains in the same system a bad idea? I figure i can do it if i treat em all like a semi-sensitive strain. I'm guessing it's because of my system's nft characteristics that my system doesn't require high ppm solution. T flower at 550-600 ppm. but i do 2-3 rez changes a week because i feel like my rez is too small. They are drinking my 20-25 gal rez dry every 2-3 days. I feel like trying to add my nute system and top off and only completely drain once a week makes my ph unstable. When i top off my system and add nutes i dont know how much of what to add. so i start over. i feel like my solution stays more stable throughout that way. My mind tends to ramble when I'm stoned. Ill do my best to get some pics up tomarrow. Their filling out nicely i think! Looking forward to everyone's input.
haha. what drying technique are you going to use. i still havent decided yet. may just use cardboard boxes.
