Anyone have any advice on video taping your room with the lights on using an iphone?

Comes out like shit. I also use magnetic ballasts and someone told me that is the reason.

While digital ballasts are awesome, I run digi's personally...
Magnetic is supposed to be the most reliable.
Did you guys ever hear about that radio frequency interruption digi ballasts were supposed to create?? i never had that problem and I keep my home's wifi router and modem in the grow room. People were complaining that digi ballasts were interrupting their neighbors wifi and shit and the cable company would come lock their cable up until they could find the problem.

That's back when they first came out, they fixed that problem.

I'm not surprised... without getting into it too much there is a ton of induction put off by anything with electricity, it must just have been at a harmonic frequency that interfered with the wifi routers: pretty cool actually (from a nerd standpoint)

I had a radio station in my old truck that would basically hint me off to anything high wattage ... for instance you pull up to a stop light and you would hear an electronic pulse when the hand flashes, or a change in frequency between red and green lights... my favorite is the tall halogen lamps people buy with the light fader ... you can actually hear the intensity of the induction rise as the power input also increases (from over 100 ft away)

So yah before someone starts to misuse this information I'll stop now

yeah thats what a lot of growers were scared about with digi ballasts, there were rumors that if a police officer drives by your house at lights on his radio will pick up interference from the ballasts. Again this is old news, I'm just starting a friendly conversation.

It's not paranoia, I've physically experienced the phenomena

I use magnetic and they are supposed to last at least five years. Welly 600 shit out on me yesterday so I took it to the place I bought it about a years ago mad as hell looking to chew someones ass out. I bought it from mesa hydroponics on southern and dobson in mesa. I go in there quite frequently and spend money there very regularly. So I come in pissed and tell the guy what happened. He was so cool about it I talk with him for a minute and at no point did he try and blame me or give me attitude or a hard time. I also did not have a receipt, but he was cool about it and because they were the only retailers of that brand then it was obvious I got it from them and he recognized me which always helped. So long story short he just says go grab a new one off the shelf and we will take care of it. Pretty cool people, great business practise. I highly recommend dealing with these guys very nice and always willing to deal.

As far as filming with your lights on, use a polarized sunglasses lense over the camera lenses while filming

I have always had good service when a ballast burns out. In my experience, it happens often enough that most places replace them without a question.
