my grow setup

hey guys, i wasn't sure if my setup is good or not so can someone please judge? i'll post pics later but basically, in my wardrobe i have 2 plants that sprouted and i have 1 incandescent lamp and 2 daylight cfl lamps on/over the plants, i put aluminum foil around the area. I don't have a timer yet but i will soon get it and put it on a 18/6 light cycle. The soil already has nutrients in it, its a miracle grow soil so i don't need to use nutes while watering. and I water about once a day. how does this sound. i've been going for about 4 days and my plants about 2 inches high. pics to follow

The rest sounds ok

this is a cheap setup and I don't intend to spend a great amount of money into this.
can someone like suggest improvements rather than just saying it sucks?

hey i would suggest getting a fan a few more lights and then wait to see if the miracle grow ruins them or not dont worry about that dude he just put bk in his name for a cover

Don't water too much, the soil on the top should be dry to the touch, every 10 to 14 days give them a good drenching so you get water running out the bottom this will flush salts build up out. Don't let the plants sit in water get rid of it. Keep the lights as close as you can. put your open hand over the top of the plant, the back of your hand to the light, if your hand gets hot its too close move it till there is no heat. Sounds like your on your way to a great grow.

is miracle grow bad for pot plants?

Alot of people will say MG is bad because it has time released nutrients in it. (i think) Go with a pro mix of some sort or ive heard of people doin good with MG moisture control.

i have moisture control/ nutrients MG. anyone recommend an organic nutrient for vegging and flowering?

hey dude im running a pretty cheap set up, iv got tin foil all over, a 10 quid fan and a 125 cfl (blue for veg red for flowering) that must have cost me 30 quid. but im using biobizz all mix soil which is a bit expensive but defo worth the money, i wouldnt use miracle grow, heard alot of bad stuff about it. Also got my nutes from biobizz aswell so my total spend we'll round it up to £70
growing one plant just now as a project but god is she doing great check my journal

ya i just know alot of miracle grow soils are full of extra nutes and can be too much for young plants but ya if its working roll with it i know a guy that swears by it im sure regardless you'll get a yield of some kind out of this, dont water too much i wait untill the topsoil is bone dry. when do u plan on flowering?

xeningti what kind of cfl do you have, like the bar ones or the twisty small ones? and how do you change the colour of the cfl?

These threads kill me. People will by a quarter religiously weekly but when it comes to growing your own weed where you can dictate every aspect of that plant to produce the finest weed for your own consumption you dont want to spend too much money. Crazy

lol true dat.
but the problem is i go to college and live with my parents. im pretty sure they wont be willing to give me money so i can grow my own pot or buy it for that matter.
