My first grow. DWC Blue Dream

Hi,

I thought id start a post about my first ever grow just so i can get some tips and advice along the way.

I decided to do a one plant DWC in a 0.8 x 0.8 x 1.6 tent and the seed I chose was a HSO Blue Dream.

Im using a 250w HPS light but will probably add more to that when it comes to flowering. Not yet got a reflector because im still undecided on if i should get a cooltube or air cooled hood or a normal cheapo reflector.

Its currently on day 16 of veg and im using RO water with calmag and the flora series of nutes. PH is currently at 6.0 and ppm 600. Ive topped the main stem once and topped 2 of the side branches. Ive just fimmed the top 2 branches.

Temps hang around 78 and humidty around 50.

Do you think it looks healthy so far ?

Cool. Not sure if i fimmed correctly, cut too high ? too low ? also theres a little chunk out of one of the leaves, anything to worry about ?

Great girls, but I'm not sure about chunk out. Probably it is normal.

Looks like you did a good job, nothing to really worry about. Your gona get more heads either way, only time will tell how many though,should be able to tell soon. On the chunk, I would search the room for a caterpillar or any insects. Hopefully no more show up.

Ok thanks, il keep my eyes peeled. Quick update. Had a bit of a disaster when i tried to tie down the 2 main branches and split the main stem slightly. Wired it tight closed so hopefully it will be ok.

Also noticed some brown areas which i think may be nute burn or calcium so ive lowed the ppm and upped the calmag slightly. Ive been a bit slack with topups aswell which i guess has made the ppms rise all the time. Could do with plumbing in a water level indicator so its easier to keep on top of it.

Also stealth was becoming a bit of an issue with nephews asking why i had to keep the spare room door locked so ive moved my setup into my bedroom cupboard instead which is only slightly smaller and got rid of the tent. The closet has the boiler in it which is a bit of a pain but handy that it has one low vent and one hight vent.

Day 24 ( Just done a res change so its looking a bit grumpy )

Ive noticed a lot of the leaves have brown bits and the end of some of the leaves are completly missing.

Is it nute burn or something else ?

Day 27 : Batteling a couple of issues.

Day 32 : Scrog addded. Hoping to veg for about another couple of weeks to try and get most of the scrog filled.

I believe somethings eating your leaves, I've had that issue before and solved it by misting the leaves with SM90(1 part SM90 to 5 parts water, and spray right after lights go out, it can induce light burn on the leaves so allow it to soak n dry a bit while lights are out). I wouldn't worry about the brown spots they're pretty minor. Otherwise everything looks great, I run the same setup, (5 gal DWC, 1 plant only, flora series nutes, no Scrog though) but with CFL's(168w total), pulled a nice 3 oz out of my first grow. I just ordered up a 250w mh/hps light setup so I'm looking forward to what kind of results you pull.
