My First Attempt

Whats up potheads! So I recently planted 5 seeds which I had from about 3 years ago and 2 gave life! 2 weeks later I planted a striped seed from an 8th I bought of AK47 x Mango and another child was born.

I am growing outdoors but with much discretion so I thought it was be safe to grow in the attic... big NO NO! I put 2 fans up there and 3 plant lights that I got from walmart but when I went back up to check on the temp 2 hours later it was a furnace! I panicked and sprayed cool water on my most perfect plant as the other one was born a little retarded and flop... I broke her neck. I immediately took all 3 down from the attic and I left my precious in the house with A/C and the other 2 outside for cool air. Then I searched for a stem in the yard to support her weight... but her destiny was inevitable, so I put her down a week later.

I did some research on what to use so here's my formula.
I use about 70% MiracleGrow Potting Mix and 30% MiracleGrow Organic Potting Mix
I put some all purpose plant food (10-10-10), magnesium, azalea camellia and rhododendron (14-7-7), and some perlite mixed in the soil. I also have Mexican bat guano for veg and Jamaican guano for flowering.

So... I basically mixed all those ingredients into the soil (excluding guano), and that's my setup throughout the whole process.

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M MAKING MISTAKES!!

So my perfect plant died then I was left with the retard and the AK x Mango that was planted about 2 after the others. But I now have the most faith ever in my retard as for one... when she sprouted the outer side of the seed leaf was purple!!

I made a mistake about 2 weeks ago when I had just purchased the guano and by mistake I used the flowering guano, mixed it into a gallon of water and evenly distributed it amongst the 2 plants (might have been too much)... so my ? is...

HOW MUCH WATER DO I GIVE THE PLANT WHEN THE INSTRUCTION SAYS 1 TABLESPOON FOR EVERY GALLON? AND WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO SWITCH TO THE FLOWERING GUANO?

Here are some pics... some friggin grasshoppers at the leaves of the AK Mango so I cut the leaves so that they didn't drain energy... but look at how small she is... it's been over a month! What could be stunting her growth?

Can anyone tell me what they think the older one is? That's the purple seed.

no i agree man...use half of what they reccomend for nutes, eventually u'll have your own feeding ammounts where u want it. im doing my first grow and using fox farms brand soil and nutes, and at first i used half strength what it called for, now i am doing it kinda by what feels right...and i am having some success...my thread is "good so far" if u want to check it out

also they are lookin good, dont worry about your accidental bloom feed. i did the same thing this time only i did it 3 or 4 feedings before i realized...lol but they loook good. keep up the good growin

the two ahead of me got it right it wont mess up your plants getting a bloom feed it wont kill them and always start with half the dosage the Fert Companies want you to hurry up and empty the bottle so you ahve to buy more. and always try to use soil thats 100% Organic and not just "Made From Organic" that means that just use some organic material good luck with the grow..also what I do sometimes to speed up Veg a little is like a 17/7 schedule good luck

ya krondon is right while vegging, the little ammount of night you have promotes faster root developement which in turn promotes faster growth as well...i woul also recommend using natural unsulphured molasses for your soil i use it throughout my grow, and up the dose during flower. molasses is a good microbial feed for your soil. again it keeps the microbes in your soil healthy, which in turn (IMHO) keeps your plants loving life. stay green homes lol.

I saw your plants... Nice grow! I can't wait to see my babies that big! Fox Farm ey... I found a retailer near by... I'll drop by there later today.... should I transfer my ladies to the new soil at this point though?

My guano looks like soil and poop... lol no bottles or liquid... I mix 1 spoon with a gallon of water. I know I should be buying some bottled ferts tho, any suggestions?

Also, I just ordered my light off of eBay and I'm crossing my fingers that it will be all I need, it's the LEDGP45. I also got a storage utility 6' high, 20" wide, and 30" long and I'm hoping that will suffice for 2 plants.

But the question is... what bottled ferts should I invest in?

ya i have no experience with anything other then ff, but i am sure that there is a nice bag of something in between ff and mg that is better then what you are using atm (MG). again i have no experience with it, but i have heard the same, and that is mg is prone to burning, but ive said this before, if it works for you keep doing it.

Sounds good! Well I just happen to be the type of guy that likes to feed the best of the best to my babies. The best I give them now, the more they give me later. I'm heading out to the Hydro shop now... I'm gonna get FF and some compound. I want to get some nutrients but I don't really know what to choose... if anyone can give me a short list of basic nutes to feed I'd appreciate it. The shop is about 45 mins from my house so hopefully I have enough time! Once I get the new soil... should I transfer?

ummm...sorry dude i wish i had more knowledge in the ferts department, but the only 2 that i can recommend safely from experience is the bio line up and fox farms...on average 12-20 bucks per bottle for either. ff is 17 dollars per. at my local store.

So I didn't get a chance to go to the store... but this is how she's doing today... I'll add a pic of the AK Mango (the baby) as well.

ya looks good and healthy imo...um u had the ferts question...well if u do happen to go get FFOF and nutes, fox farms has those too...their soil is pre ph"d and their line up of nutes kinda just goes with the soil. keep the pics commin! ill be followin.

lol and did u lose a fan? i was lookin at the top pic, and it just didnt look normal.

In which one are you talking about? AK or Purp? When the leaves at the bottom start to die I cut them so they won't drain energy from the good leaves. With the Ak (the baby), I cut the leaves because some grasshoppers had them for lunch. Here's a pic.

Here's my purp this morning as well, I noticed some yellow whitish spots on some leaves... any ideas?

But seriously tho... the AK is over a month old... why is it taking so long?!

what type of lighting are you using? or outdoor? and the bottom leaf thing, uh chop it...looks like its just the one. or leav it...i have one lookin the same only a lil worse, they are like anything else in the world...sometimes it happens. just watch for it and make sure it doesnt spread and yes i was talkin about the leaf that you had cut off...couldnt see the spot where it used to be i didnt know if it was a defect or of u lost it
