My experienice with garage curing

My experienice with garage curing (this could help others):

It was time to hang dry my dads harvest, and he did not have a better place to hang the cannabis.

I purchased a hygrometer/thermometer, and found that the garage oscillated between 55-68% humidity, and it was well below 65 F most of the time.

I hung the cannabis, and on the 5th night, a hook fell out, causing 1 line of cannabis to fall onto the ground. I had cleaned up the garage and swept it out prior.

I rehung the cannabis, and had no more issues.

I did this for about 2 weeks, and the cannabis seemed ready to harvest. Branches snapped, slight crisp on some of the buds.

The cannabis was jarred and put back in the garage where I would shake them up every day and pop the jars to release some gas, and then spacing to 2 days after 2 weeks.

When I stopped shaking and popping the cannabis to every 3 days, some of the buds from the worst plant started to show signs of white mold. It was petty minor, so I stuck those in the freezer.

1 Jar of the better cannabis started to show some signs as well, so I rejarred with less cannabis and removed it.

I eventually got some humidity packs because it seemed like the cannabis had just a little too much moisture.

Its been 4 months since harvest, and 2 months since placing the humidity packs in, and only a couple of jars have a few minor/tiny signs of mold. Barely noticeable. The mold is most likely due to the humidity packs adjusting the jar too slowly, but probably wont spread afterwards.

I will soon be moving excess jars to the freezer for long term storage, as there is limited freshness from jars at room temperature. The cannabis did well despite a poorly controlled environment and being jarred too early.

so the takeaway from this was don't cosy up your curing buds too much, say leave about 1/3 vessel space i guess.

I just came across this post via search. I myself am also doing a garage dry / cure. RH is fluctuating between 55-65% 4th day of dry and Ill be putting them in turkey bags for cure tonight. Still weighing out if I should bring in the house or leave me in the garage. After reading OPs comments, I may just bring inside where its a little more stable.
