Barack Obama is the current president of the United States of America. Many people have criticized the actions of the first black president but I believe he's doing a better job than John McCain could ever do. When President Obama was elected, he stepped into the White House with a lot of work ahead of him. Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to the parents Barack Obama Sr. and Stanley Ann Dunham. His mother was from Wichita, Kansas and his father was from Nyanza, Kenya. When Obama was 4 years old his parent's divorced and he went to live in Indonesia with his mother and her new spouse. Obama attended schools in Indonesia from age 6 to 11.
Obama would then go on to earn degrees from both Columbia University and Harvard Law School. On campus he was president of the Harvard Law review. Soon after he graduated, Obama traveled to Chicago and became a civil rights attorney and taught law class at the University of Chicago. Chicago is where Obama first became a popular and important figure in politics.

On February, 10 2011, is when Barack Obama announced he would be running for president. He gave people in America hope for change. He also promised to end the war in Iraq, increasing energy independence, and providing universal healthcare. "A good compromise and a good piece of legislation, is like a good sentence, or a good piece of music. Everybody can recognize it" (Barack Obama).

Gotta give Obama props for the two nuclear plants that just got approved in Georgia. It would be nice to see a few dozen more spring up around the country over the next few years, but it's a start.

Are you old enough to be here? I could swear this was written by a naive, sheltered fourteen year old.
