Great job Irish! I've been telling everybody that LED's are the shit but there are always those few "experts" that "know" the suck; that's why they've never owned one or even seen one in real life. I spent $400 on my first 3 lights from HTG supply. Those were mixed red and blue. I recently bought two more blue only lights for about $120 - (100w total). You can't look back dude; just keep on keeping on. From what I've seen with my plants, I'm going to stick with the HPS for flowering but for vegging, I've never seen anything that made them happier than the LED's. And the energy savings and lack of heat is just one huge extra. As soon as I get out to Cali I'll be starting another grow and it's going to be good; I've got plans!

irishboy, ive been on the fence about getting one for a while. I didn't know they had 5-band out until this thread. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I called the sales guy and talked to him on the phone and he was very informative. I can't wait to ditch the HPS and get this 90 watt bad boy!

I know someone who has a knock off UFO and it STILL does a better job then my 150 watt HPS and uses HALF the energy.

Quick question: You dont have to replace the bulbs after 1-2 projects right? From what I was reading they last like 50,000 hours. :bigjoint:

you have to/should replace the hps bulbs after 2 or 3 cycles. leds last 11yrs or 50,000 hrs. if i can swing it i would get the 180w is so bad ass and will yeild much better then the 90w. dont get me wrong the 90w will still kick ass i mean look at what my old tri-ban did with teps in 95-100F. but the 180w is a much better buy if ur trying to go big.

if you plants leafs start to twist that means the leds are too close. just watch them and they will let u know if it too close or not. i like mine 15" high. but every strain is differnt. good luck.

Irishboy you have my very interrested in this type of setup for my fridge I just picked up

Would that 180 w be good in a 33 41 ½ high x 27 wide 23 deep space?

Or do you think it would be too much and go for the 90 w?

I am planing to have 3 to 4 plant in there

And have an intake and exhaust fan

You have used both, what kind of space are you working with?

Thanks

with my 90w i was working with a 3x3 area. the 90w do a 3x3 and the 180w dose a 5x5 with a little more then 4f of pentration. the more light the better i dont think u can have too much light, and i would do the 180w because it bad ass.

ya 15" for the most part. i just talk to my ladies and listen to what they say, if they tell me that their too close i move them too far i move it closer. ive done 6" above the top and they loved it... it all depends on the strain.
