Moving cross country with my Baby!!! How can we travel?

Ok so here is my dilemma, I have been asked to relocate for my occupation. I am traveling over 1200 miles and don't know how to keep light on her for the 2 day drive. I'm going to be about 6 weeks into flower by the time the move comes. I have tried some experiments with using an inverter and batteries. Unfortunately the 400w inverter I have isn't able to power the four 25w CFL's i wanted to use. It worked for a while but then they started causing the inverter to go into alarm. Tried another inverter and the same thing happened. I think its something with the ballast on them because one inverter will cause them to flash on and off very fast like a strobe light.

Does anybody have any ideas on what I should do? Was thinking about shortening the light cycles to try and force the flower to finish early. Will this work? She is about 4 weeks now and I don't know if it will be done by then. Would leaving the lights off altogether for the 2 day travel cause to much stress on her? I Don't Know what to do someone please help???!!!

Will leaving the lights off have any ill effects on her? I have heard of other people doing this but don't remember if it caused issues.

i heard something about if you let yourplants have total darkness for 5 days when its done growing that it thinks its gunna die and creats massive buds to try survive

I think your plant will be fine in the dark for 2 days. Its probably not the best thing for it, but it will be ok. there is no way to speed up the flowering process, only cut your plant down too early and have not as much and crappier bud. I've put my plants in the dark for a couple days at the very end, right before I chop them and they a definetly still alive afterwards.

if your taveling that far...if in a car...im guessing your staying at a hotel right? plug em in at the hotel for the night....or keep in near the window *but probably not a good idea* and take em back in ur car while the lights are suppose to be off....if at worse you keep in in light and put em back in your car at night...best advice i can give....or give em to someone else. im in the same situation and im gonna harvest what i can and give the rest to some buddys and hope they give me bud for em being nice :D

I'm really suprised that the inverter couldn't handle it to tell you the truth...

1200 miles, I've made that in a day. literally, took me 22 hrs straight. leave at night when your still alert that way when you start getting tired it will be daylight and easier to stay awake. If it were me, i would make the trip straight and suck it up. But that could also be cuase I'm an impatient son of a b. Also, try using less lights to see if the inverter handles that, it may not be sufficient, but for 2 days it should more than do.

next to that scotts idea ranks #2 to me, plugging them in at the hotel is probably what your going to want to go with.
Hope this was helpful

lol im about to drive across country E to W coast. and i dont think i could do 1200 miles knowing i had plants in my car. if i get tired and swerve, get pulled over, im fucked from the smell. but ya if ur gonna do it all at once do it early morning....like 5am early and drink a energy drink every 3 hrs :D and doing 1200 miles in 22 hrs is definitly speeding, not good idea with plants on ya. if you can do the drive straight through do it, if not do the hotel idea and get some damn febrezze before the house keepers get in

I got the best idea for you ... very easy to install.

Go buy some Fog Lights from Auto zone ,Pep Boys , Napa whatever part store. The lights will be 20-50bucks on the high and there usually 55watt halogen bulbs,It'll even come with a switch . All you got to do is go into your fuse box and look at the diagram itll say cigarette lighter pull the fuse out and replace with a 30amp fuse but FIRST You take the power wire from the fog light and push into the hole then put the 30 amp fuse in to hold the wire for the fog lights. Now for a negative , just look in your trunk . Pull a panel / carpet back and look for a bolt you can wrap that wire around.

If you got tools then drill a tiny hole on the trunk then screw a bolt into the hole .

Pull the carpet / panel and find a nice piece of sheet metal in the trunk , probably near the rear speakers .

This is really easy job

You could pull over 12 hours a day and give her what she needs. I know its not very convenient but it should work.

that inverter should really be able to supply those lights, thats not much power. its possible you have a bad altenator or battery also. is the inverter over heating? car floors get hotter than africa so it could be heating it up and thats whats causeing it to go into alarm mode. or the battery on your car cant provide that voltage for long periods of time and the alarm is coming on because it doesnt have the required power.

newer car? how old is the battery

keep her in the back seat so the sun hits her and dont get pulled over
†LOL† good luck with that...like you sig though...I plan on leaving my name on a sativa dominant auto that starts flowering in a week and is done in a month. Won't produce much, but if they each produced enough for a bowl I'd be happy. Just have to drop alot of seeds, thats all ;)

I'm not sure where you are moving to , but on the West Coast , they have agriculture check points on the freeways. They look for fruits and plants. I wouldn't risk it . Just move and start another.

6 weeks is just going to start smelling strong for your drive! I think it would be fine for two days in the dark if it had good ventilation and all. Something to think about though. I've read that keeping your lights on for 1 or two days (continuously) at week 5 causes "double-flowering" where buds send out new pistils and increases yield. I don't think that even messing up your light cycle for 1-2 days is going to seriously mess up your grow.

That being said, I wouldn't travel through most of the Bible belt states with a full-sized plant in your car. People get locked up for a single seed in their ashtray in Kansas, Missouri and the like. If you have a med-permit try to steer through states with reciprocity :)
