Mother Herm. Try to Self?

A friend's Mother plant several years old has suddenly sprouted pollen sacs,

no obvious reason, the sacks are a few days old and only a few mm. in size.

He was wondering if it would be feasible to let her self pollinate and collect seeds

she is one of a kind.

Should he try to re-veg it instead?

I believe the seeds from selfing won't all be clones and would need
to be grown to find the one s with desired characteristics.
is this right?

Appreciate any informed ideas.

the seeds will likely produce more sexually confused plants. they will all likely be similar to the mom.
I would make some copies in case it goes wrong and use Reverse to stop the confusion in the line.

Thanks P.
She's been stable for years, does that not count once the weirdness starts?

Is " Reverse" a supplement or a breeding technique?

Thanks again for taking the time.

google ethylene, hermaphrodite stop, etc. for the one right for you.
I dont know how or why the plant is confused, or what counts, sry.

After several years of growing with no men in sight, she grew tired of waiting for Mr Right, and decided that she needed to pollinate herself. It's a natural reaction (one some breeders exploit to harvest feminized pollen), that even the healthiest of girls can exhibit after being alive for so long. You could definitely look into hormone therapy for the girl, or let her let her finish to the point her seeds are fully developed. All of the seeds will be fem'd and some will have a higher tendency to herm out on you, but that's where the selection process comes in for your new mother. Good luck on whichever path you choose. :)
