Motarebel seeds thread

Here's the sales pitch for herijuana that sannie pitched for years:

"Top strain for medical users and blowers that are looking for that extra punch which they havent find in the past years. This smoke can be to strong for some blowers !"

I can't imagine that even a novice could have trouble toking it.

I ran sannies heri [which he says came from mota], and his crosses Extrema and Mad Scientist. I also ran mota/woodhorse ronny james dio [ heri x rocky mtn high], heriberry, and herijuana x williams wonder. Only the last one had better than B potency. All the rest were pawned off almost immediately. Lots of wasted time, other than the lesson on chasing 'hype'.
It tests routinely above 20% here (Herijuana clocking in at 26.5% - http://sclabs.com/sample-detail.html?id=69921) which when I smoked it years ago was pretty damn impressive, pretty much only it and g-13 were commonly pulling those kind of numbers, if i remember correctly.

i had / have the same issue with c99.. all of these years of hearing how it's the holy grail of smokes, blah blah blah.. i had it built up in my head to be something that pretty much no strain could live up to..
in the end of the day, was c99 what i had built it up to be in my head, was it the holy grail of all strains like i had imagined it to be? of course not, but that's not to say it wasn't good smoke..
i think you have the same problem with herijuana.. you just don't think it lived up to the hype is all, imvho..

Tasted like crap - imvho - but it wasn't bought with taste in mind. The selling point is potency. None could give even a Critical+ a go, and that's about B- - imvh-exp.

I had CH9 Herijauna Jack just recently. AMAZING yield, 6.5 zips off of one plant. Absolute GARBAGE smoke. I took one toke and tossed the shit! There wasnt even enough frost on it to be even worth making extracts from. It kinda reminded me of beasters that flooded the east coast during the early 2000's. It was pretty, but had minimal trics, shit smell & taste. It was very hazey.

This begs the question.... Why on earth would you buy so many different strains with that in it without ever trying it before?? :eyesmoke:

I thought Herijuana tasted pretty bad as well. Even if the buzz is really good, at this point there are way, way too many strains that not only pack a punch but actually taste good as well.

Once I get settled in a new permanent home I plan on doing some more breeding. I have a few mother plants that I'm keeping for breeding but I also have about 200 strains that I purchased from all over that I haven't even got to.
Mothers are:
Girl scout cookies - forum cut
Bio-Diesel - said to be from Denver Relief, not sure on this but the quality of finished product looked very promising
Critical Jack Herer - Dinafem
Fat Purple - Fat Marty
Gorilla Glue #4 - picked up from the cannabis cup from a member here Gladstoned from Medicated Acres
Cali Orange Bud - Dutch Passion
Blue Berry - Dutch Passion

I'm looking forward to getting Mota's genetics to breed with the above
I live in Colorado and I've been trying to get Biodiesel for three fucking years now. I'd do some research on that cut to make sure someone isn't feeding you a line.

It was a few years ago, and as I'd only recently began growing again after a decade off, I had little exp or knowledge of strains, growers, and reps.

I had read several threads and reports of adulation for Sannie, as a businessman and as a breeder w/ great strains. Clicking on his site, obviously, the description of the heri jumped out - "extra punch tokers haven't had in years", along w/ the story of how the legend 'Mota' had turned over this magic plant for Sannie to work while Mota was locked away. Dang good story and hype. However, at that time, both his heri and extrema were sold out. So I started searching for somewhere else to get some of these super potent beans.

Searching 'motarebel', I found Woodhorse's 'Meduser' site, which had just listed 3 new heri crosses - heriberry, ronny james dio, and heri x williams wonder. At that time, a cat on rollitup [ jogro ? ] was heaping great praise and potency reports on the WW. So.....I figure these would be grabbed straight up, so I grabbed a pack of each.

Before they arrived, reports surfaced that heri was back in stock at Sannies, and thinking how soon they would likely sell out, I grabbed the heri and extrema, and got mad scientist as a freebie.

Both orders arrived almost the same day. That's when things took a deep turn south.

I still have fond memories of picking up a qp every two weeks and was thrilled when it was beasters. Usually would be late October through January and they would show up. Dense nugs in comparison to the Mexican swag (although some was good just usually did the job). Nothing like what us growers grow, I'll give you that. Yet it was a welcomed change and I still appreciate getting that Canadian bud over the Mexican swag that was so prevalent back in the day.

That east coast struggle man.
Grew up on mexi swag/brick.
When i was a youngin' @ university beasters became the new "standard" of pot. I remember that shit being INSANELY hairy, like more red/orange than green not because of the color of the bud itself, but because it was just encased in all these long ass hairs. I remember at some point having a conversation with a friend and ignorantly thinking "the more hairs the higher you get right?" only to have homeboy pull out some good with actual in tact trichomes

I remember back when I was around 12 or thereabouts, we used to think the hairs were the most potent part so we would pick them off all the bud we got and save them up until we had enough to pack a bowl or roll a join using nothing but the hairs. For comedy's sake I would love to say it was as disappointing as you'd imagine, but I think placebo was our friend because I have nothing but fond memories of it. It makes me kind of sad that by the time I got to high school I was already friendly with growers and all I was smoking was well grown bud like Trainwreck, Romulan, Sour Diesel, and White Widow x AK47 (Gotta love Nor Cal in the 90's), and the only bud we got that had orange hairs still on it was the occasional batch of Orange Crush.

Oh memories! Haha. Yeah i was really happy bout it at first. Shit was like $170-$200 a zip, but then after a couple years it started raising and hit close to $300 a zip! Just wasnt worth it. At that time I was just starting growing. I was using 4x 4' flouros and getting a qp every harvest using bag seed. So between that and the plug i had getting mexi brick for $45 a zip, i stopped fucking with beasters

Keep us posted on those appolos Akhijm. I was looking at Motas & bodhi's apollos but opted for Motas Mack Trail mix instead since i have so many cindy beans.
Was looking foward to introducing my own apollo selection into that pool

i've grown sannies heri, and it was good smoke imvho.. it had a very odd smell / flavor, that was very hard for me to put a finger on, but i rather enjoyed it personally..
Sweet onion soup with hint of garlic? That's what the heri I got that made my nose crinkle smelled like..
