Mites in Late Flower (8 weeks) Advice

Hey guys! Thanks for reading- I’ll keep it short. I’m pretty sure it’s all my fault. I had spider mites on my plant in the garage.That was a tester plant so it didn’t get my full attention, that’s why it got mites. This one inside is more serious with better genetics and spendy seeds. I harvested and washed it last night, but didn’t clean ALL of the equipment and put it back in my grow room inside (lights, plugs, bud to dry).
When I went into the tent this morning to water I noticed a crust like layer and what looked like mite damage on a few leaves. Even saw mites on the underside of a few. I was planning on de leafing today anyway, so I made sure to clean those areas up well.
I have Spinosad (Cpt Jacks) and it worked wonders on the outside plant. It says it’s fine to use until a week before harvest, but I’m still a little nervous about using it this late into flower. Any experience with this or advice on something else I can use? I caught them super early so I’m hoping to get on top of this quickly. Just to add, I did put mosquito dunks in the top layer of soil, I had a bunch of springtails in there and it destroyed them.

Isopropyl alcohol (70%) mixed with an equal or greater amount of water. So, 4 pints alcohol, 4-5 pints water ½-⅔ tablespoon potassium bicarbonate (to stave off powdery mildew and bud rot), ¼ teaspoon castile soap. Spray everything (walls, floors and plants) every other day for a week then every third day for another. It kills virtually every pest you will ever deal with on contact.
Spinosad can be tank mixed with this as well for a bit of residual effect. But is not necessary during late flower.
Before you ask, yes it works, no it doesn't damage the plant and it won't dissolve the trichomes. The alcohol concentration is too low.
As to the potassium bicarbonate, its OMRI approved and will wash away when you wash your buds to get rid of the dead mite carcasses.

Also, there's no need to kill springtails. They just eat decaying organic matter. If you just don't want them around, that's fine. But they aren't harmful to the plants.

i am in the same boat unfortunately i sprayed mine 2 nights in a row with a mix of cold water and everclear grain alcohol this is my first grow now i know the signs of infestation lesson learned do you think if i wash my buds before i hang them the weed will still be smokeable? everyone on here is trying to tell me to just throw the plants away but i plan on smoking every bit of them

google how to wash outdoor buds i think its water and h202 you have to hang them with a fan but yes you can wash your buds, thc won't dissolve in water just don't be aggressive dunk and spin

Just so you know, isopropyl alcohol is way cheaper. And it evaporates away.
I wash mine using h2o2, water and potassium bicarbonate in the first tub, then two rinse tubs of plain water. They all come out fine. This bud was sprayed in late flower, then washed after harvest. Hung to dry and is now being trimmed as I type this.

Potassium bicarbonate is used in wine making, and some people take it as a nutritional supplement, though I don't know why. It's safe for human consumption.

Baking too. It can replace baking soda for people on low sodium diets. Its also supposed to help lower blood pressure and dissolve kidney stones. So if you are going to use your flower for edibles it'll be fine too.

I would just finish them then clean the F outta everything

Spraying late in flower buds can have unintended consequences.

Maybe try predator mites.

Yeah depends on if hes keeping mothers etc might be a good idea

just kill them with your hands at this point, its too late in flower to bother with sprays or predators that take weeks to get established. get rid of all the debris & spray the room out several times after harvest.

wait till you see a top bud like that completely webbed up..

Thanks for the replies guys. I can feel the love!
so yes I know about washing, I guess I wasn’t clear in my post but my outdoor plant got mand I washed it after harvesting, with h202 and lemon juice, baking soda, then water (3 different buckets).
It worked great, no mites or pm to speak of left.

I’ll try the iso spray, sounds like my best bet. If I go that route I need to wash em after harvest yeah? I probably will anyway for cleanliness sake.

I just checked in the tent again and only found 2 leaves with minimal mites, so it’s not a big infestation yet... let’s hope it stays that way.
