Miracle grow organic potting soil????

I did okay with it for my first go around with bagseed. I would go ahead and invest in something better though. I'm going to try out Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil when I try again with some attitude beans.

thats what I came up with

Hey man it isn't the biggest thing ever, but it will be a great smoke knowing you grew it. Considering how low budget your grow is, can't complain too much though. :bigjoint:

EDIT: On topic, MG will work fine, but you might need to flush nutes. I recommended Fox Farms, it has treated me well.

funny thing is I didn't have too much trouble with nute burns or lock ups. I used the sample Bio Bizz was giving out awhile back. My main problem was more along the lines of high temps...Note the leaf curl ^^^ I really want to get a 250 or 400HPS for the next go.

My first grow.
Grown using Miracle Gro and CFL's.. I got bugs during flowering as you'll notice sand in the last pic.. But before that it was good.. So yes miracle gro works fine

I just wasn't sure if the fact that it was organic had any difference significantly.

And another question......Do i just need to concentrate on nitrogen and potassium seeing as I don't really know what I am doing since this is my first rodeo.

I used Miracle Grow organic soil for my first grow and got a beautiful girl. I didn't allow it to get too big but it was some of the best bud I've ever blazed.

As for the difference in organic soil, it contains much more organic matter. Organic matter improves water retention and reduces compaction by allowing larger pore spaces for oxygen to get to the roots.

I would probably not suggest trying to transplant just for a flush. It could create a lot of stress(transplant shock) on the plant and reduce the amount your buds put on in the last couple of weeks. I would just flush your soil real well. Most of the nutrients will be leachable with a substantial amount of water.

The three main nutrients you need to worry about are N-P-K(Nitogen-Phosphorus-Potassium). These are known as the macronutrients. During vegetative growth, a fertilizer high in nitrogen and potassium is your best bet. When you buy fertilizer you will see on the package a 3 number sequence such as 20-10-20 or 13-2-13. Those are always in the order of NPK. As you get to the flowering stage you will be best served by increasing the amount of phosphorus needed. Just make sure whatever you use, that you dilute it as recommended and even more on very small plants as the high concentration of nutrients can burn your plants.

If you get a fertilizer, it would be a good idea to choose one that contains the micronutrients as well. These are equally important to the macronutrients, but require less. These include, Iron, Manganese, Calcium, Sulfur etc.

i've used og mg and moisture ctrl mg and both where fine i like the og because it doesn't have time release in it (if you buy the one without it) and it doesn't seem to burn as much with time release the key is to ctrl ur watering if you over water thats more nutes being disolved thats my 2 cents on mg

I have used miracle grow potting soil for my bag seed grows and i never have any problems...i mix mine 2 parts MG potting soil.. 3 parts peat moss.. and 3 parts perlite..and i make my own ghetto pro-mix...i gotta say it works good for me...the only thing with MG is people way over water.. not matter how i try to dillute the soil it still holds moisture well...also i only use my own nutes about a week into flowering and i use them at 1/2 strength(Bc boost, bloom),otherwise i veg fine with the miracle grow nutes in the soil......now for the high end buds(Blue cheese, northern lights,Pot of Gold) that i grow i use organic soil and bc Nutes..But on the side i got a small grow cab i do with bag seed and i tinker with all stuff i can get at home depot i call it ghetto grows LOL...i've grown great bag-seed and have turned some friends on to it.. i call it beef and broc..they love it..they think its some actual real bud from some seed company..its funny i laugh knowing its just bag seed..
and i grow it with MG, cfl's, and it costs me nothing because i save all the bag seeds from good regular that floats around...yeah, but MG is fine to grow with if your on a budget, and only have a walmart or home cheapo near ya...Just don't overwater...and buy a moisture meter if your not sure if its dried out so you can water again....

Miracle grow Organic works fine. It's full of bugs usually though so I won't use it. It's produced big dank nugs though no prob - but at the cost of fungus gnats and other creepy crawlies. I'd suggest finding a big block of compressed coco if you can!
