That the law in your area ? 5plants total ,no allowance for stage of growth?

Every seed I sprout is illegal :( luckily I don't grow and source all my photos off google lol
not sure if there is an allowance....my area is Canada, anything over 5 plants (likely mature ones) is considered cultivation

I think we should stay with only soil IN THE CUP to keep things even.

Modifications hell ya. If you want to soak the dirt filled cup in another container with nutes go for it. Roots can grow out of holes into solution just not into more dirt. In other words, don't take this little cup and set it on top of a 3 gallon pot filled with dirt or perlite.

Creativity is the key here just like paying taxes. Drip, wick, soak, mist, topsy turvy that thing if you want.

I'm going to do some sort of soak myself.

I'm watching this for curiosity, but you are making a mistake with your rules.

Roots allowed to go out of cup? That should be cheating. Someone can take the tiny cup, sink it into a big bucket chamber, then get misting sprays to water the root system (which will grow giant). This will be called aeroponics, and is an advanced growing system. And by the way when they use that method, they only use a tiny starting cup. That's the norm.

Does the above not defeat the purpose of the small pot? I mean look, it has no pot, just a lid. The pot would only provide an anchor for the hydro system going on below.
In that regard, the roots in the pot will actually largely stop functioning as roots. They will go hard and just act like sub-soil trunk of the plant (with the real roots below that).

Obviously this would be disqualified man. The roots are allowed to go out since it is bound to happen in a cup that size. Very clearly stated that it had to be in soil so troll somewhere else
