Supz everyone. So I decided to start a grow journal in this part of the forum. Goin back to the basics on this one. This will be my 3rd go at DWC and my previous grows are in the Bubbleponics section of the forums under Mystery Bud Bubbleponics Grow. I basically use the bubbleponics setup for cloning or whatnot now so this is more of just a straight up DWC grow. First of all......the setup ;)

-3x3x6 Grow Tent
-400w Sun System 2 MH/HPS both
-435 CFM Valuline exhaust fan
-Tetra Whisper 60 dual-port air pump
-12" air stone & 6" air stone in a standard 5-gallon bucket wrapped in thermal insulation
-Technaflora nute lineup (Boost, Grow, Bloom, Thrive Alive Red/Green, Awesome Blossoms, Root 66, MagiCal, and Sugar Daddy)

Ok so the wife and I wanted to achieve more yield from just one plant and we both agreed on a clone of our favorite from the 1st grow. They were all mystery females and we had no idea what they were so we named them based on characteristics. We called this particular strain Danakush as it was some of the most ass-kickin shit we've ever blazed lulz. I plan on a longer veg time this round to maximize potential yield. I scrogged 4 plants last round in this tent and ended up with 315 grams dry, but there's people on here pulling 8oz dry from a scrog (Blu) and that sounds a lot more appealing to me than cramming a bunch of plants in my tent and hoping for the best. The knowledge and understanding of how to make one plant the best it can be is what I hope to achieve this round and so far we're off to an okay start. She was cut a few weeks ago and her rapid rooter was just FULL of nice white roots. Sat her down in a 3.5" netpot covered up with clean hydroton onto a brand new bucket with 2 airstones. The misting from the bubbles were clearly reaching the netpot, which is exactly what I wanted to see happen. I added a dash of Root 66 and Sugar Daddy to the PH'd water so hopefully she'll take off on me in the next couple of days. Hopefully the insulation around the bucket will help out some with water temps. I've never had much trouble with water temps persay, but I'd still love to keep it in check. I set the whole tent up and let it run for 24 hours prior to putting her in it. Temps went from 66-86F and RH was 20-45%. I just recently acquired a bigger fan for the tent and I'm not quite sure I have it installed adequately. I know it's powerful enough to vent it right, but maybe I just dont have enough passive intake holes? I'm always down for opinions and the rule is dont post until I say so....BUT I'm a talker and a casual type of grower so that would be nice if peeps would leave some opinions :D

Happy Growing all!!

Supz all. Just popped in for a quick update. I added another clone to the tent a couple days ago....ended up changing my mind with the one plant and i'm rockin it out with 2 now. So now I have 1 mystery fem(Danakush) and 1 Nirvana Bubblicious fem each in their own 5-gallon bucket under 1 400w light in a 3x3x6 grow tent. Lights are due to come on in a few more hours so I'll be sure to get pics and stuff up later this evening. I also have a rez change to do on the DK ;) Back in a bit

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

Day 4 002.jpgDay 4 003.jpgDay 4 005.jpgDay 4 006.jpgDay 4 007.jpgDay 4 004.jpg

So as promised here's somemore pics. The DK are the first 3 pics and the Bubblicious are the last 3. The DK has 3-4 days headstart on the BL tho, but they both show promise. Started off kinda slow the first couple of days...but I think the DK is about to start kicking ass. The bottom of her pot was getting nice and white. Her main root is starting to fishbone nicely and I havent seen water temps get over 70F nor do I intend on them doing so ;) The lowest I've seen them is lights off around 60F. My humidity is kinda lower than I'd like for Veg...I've resorted to slight misting with some Root66/Sugar Daddy ph'd water and I've handwatered them a couple of times, but that's about it. I'm gonna pick up some new airstones for them in the next couple of days. Some new 12" stones should do nicely I'd say. I also did a rez change on the DK. Glad I did as I forgot how cloudy the water can get and I'm sure she'll thank me for it later. My last grow was done with zero rez changes and worked out fine, but I'm learning as well so this round will be rez changes every 7 days. I also plan on getting one of those Exhale CO2 bags in the next week or so as well. They're supposed to be good for 6 mos and I plan on vegging these babies for 4-6 weeks anywayz so it should work out perfectly with 1 bag. I hear nothing but good things about CO2, unfortunately I lack the knowledge on using a controlled system like that. I dont know shit bout regulators and ppms with gases and whatnot. I plan on doing heavy LST/branch control before I add a new screen to the mix ;) Figure another 1-2 weeks until I install that and the fun begins anew!

INFOZ

PH--> 5.7 - 6.2

DAY 8
Day 7 006.jpgDay 7 007.jpg

So the BL clone I received seems to have died on me :/ Not really sure of the cause because both of my buckets are identical, but you do have some casualties along the way I guess. Nywayz....the DK is doing awesome! Day 8ish for her. I topped her yesterday and she's starting to recover nicely. Won't be too much longer before I start tying her down ;) Her netpot is exploding with new root growth and my water temps have held at a steady 65F! :D New growth is nice and white/firm to the touch as far as roots go. I'm goin off of shear curiosity, but I took my MH bulb out and put my HPS back in. I wanna see if 15K extra lumens truly makes a difference in veg or not. I know the speal about spectrums and the colors of different lights and blah....but I dont think it's gonna kill her so we'll leave it at that ;) And the wait game continues...

INFO
PH-->6.0
PPMz--> 500ppm shot of nutes (700 total ppms with tap water)
Water Temp--> 65F

Day 10ish

Day 10ish 001.jpgDay 10ish 003.jpgDay 10ish 002.jpgDay 10ish 006.jpgDay 10ish 004.jpgDay 10ish 005.jpg

So here's the DK at Day 10 or so of Veg. Her topping seems to have recovered and she's starting to fluff out on me. Bout 6" tall or so and there's alot of compact nodes and whatnot goin on. Her root system is looking really killer imo. Fishboning is starting to appear more often so I know she's good underneath. My humidifier is on the way. Bought one for $8 online so hopefully it'll help. I also redid all of my ducting for the tent. Got some different material and moved everything closer. My temps dropped to around 80F....it went up to 90 on me the other day and I decided that was enough and went ahead and got it all re-ran....just hope I have it set up right. She got a rez change lastnight with a new batch of nutes as well ;)

lookng awesome whe you going to throw them in to flower
Thanx for posting Rob! +Rep to you sir! She's starting to take off on me now so hopefully in another week or so I can start fluffing her out more and start her training. She's in the "just getting my @ss out of bed" stage now lulz, but shouldnt be much longer 'til I get some decent Veg action. I'm trying to let her get as big as she wants to get and she's got a whole 3'x3' tent to do it ;)

DAY 11.5ish

View attachment 1933691View attachment 1933692View attachment 1933695View attachment 1933696

So she's looking alot better and seems to be coming out of her stunted growth session. Her new tops are growing right along now and looking awesome. Her branching is pretty even and thick....compact all-around mostly thusfar. I want her to squat pretty low so I can make her as wide as possible. I tied her over a bit ago to start fluffing her out. Her root system is going insane with the fishboning and she's been really thirsty/hungry over the last 48 hrs or so. I also plan on doing some minor construction this weekend if possible. I'm gonna add an intake from outside to help get the temps down somemore and possibly relocate the entire tent. Nothing major just a few feet, but I have plans for next round and may as well start now ;)

PH--> 6.7 (She ate alot yay!) Dropped to 5.5
PPMz--> 450 shot of nutez
Water Temp--> 66F
Cab Temp--> 79-81F
RH--> 20% (c'mon humidifier!!)

Looking healthy. I don't know hydro at all but those are some nice looking roots to me! *Drool*
Thanx Liquid ;) My water temps have been holding at a steady 66F. The lowest I've ever had them rock-solid stable before so the insulation works for sure. I knew if I had higher temps at some point, the low water temps would help with the stress of it especially during veg. When I flower her tho that RH can just stay at 20% lulz....no arguments from me.

Woot I figured out how to blow up pics on RIU lulz. This is DK at Day 13ish of Veg. She grew 2" in the last 48 hrs so she's 8" tall standing straight up. I untied her today to let her recover for a day so tomorrow I can go back in and tie her down the other way and fluff up the other side. Seems to be working pretty well as she's so small and I have time to do so :D Another few days and her new tops will be ready for LST and I'll start thinkin bout installing a screen in another week or so. Have to wait and see I guess...

PH--> 6.2
PPMz--> 400 shot of nutez
Water Temp-->67F
Air Temp-->81F
RH-->30-35%

DAY 15 OF VEG

Day15ish 003.jpgDay15ish 002.jpgDay15ish 001.jpg

So she's finally taking off on me :D She's almost 9" tall or so and I bought some screen for her tonight along with a slew of other stuff. I'm doing somemore rearranging with the tent tomorrow (including re-running ducting, installing the screen, and other stuff I will update later) so should be an exciting day off lulz. I found that my temps arent to my liking so I'm moving it to the other end of the house and running the exhaust out of the house completely. Hopefully this will get me stable under the 80F mark with lights on and my night temps will drop a little lower as well for the coloration effect. My water temps have been awesome this round and I'm in love with this insulation. Bought some Reflectix tonight for $10 in a 25' roll as well as the rest of my buckets :D The anticipation of going vertical next round is fuckin killin me, but I promised I wouldnt nerf this girl this time around. I wanna see what she has to offer all by her lonesome...she fluffed out really nicely over the last couple of days. Her main branching is still noticeable and I'm determined to stretch her out to fill this tent so should be easier than last round watching 4 plants was rough lulz. I dont remember her stretching alot so I figure 70% screen fill for Veg and then I'll flip her. With any luck she'll have it full in just over a few weeks as I'd love to flip her around the middle of January or so. So yea, quick update. I'll have more pics of the updated setup tomorrow evening as I'm determined to figure this ventilation ordeal out....if you guys have ny suggestions plz shout. Happy growing!

nice healthy colours man.. you seem to know what you are doing!

What's the issue you are having with the ventilation again?

Also: how did you enlarge the photo?

Thanx for the compliment mane. Basically my tent is sitting in a warmer area of my house and I cant run my ducting the way I want to so i'm going to move it tomorrow. Temps with light on are 82F stable, but that's not the magic # for me so I'm experimenting with the placement of each item (carbon filter, fan, etc) to see which way works best for me. I would love to get my temps down to around 75F because the HPS runs hotter than the MH does :/

To enlarge your photos--> Upload your pics onto your thread. Once the pics pop up on your window(when you make the actual post) just double-click the pic you want to enlarge and it will bring up a window for you to do all that ;)

Nice.. thanks for the tip.

RE: HPS vs MH. I asked the same question to the rep at my local hydro store. He told me the complete opposite that MH runs hotter than HPS. Not sure which is true now :D

DAY 7 OF 12/12

Day 7 Flower 001.jpgDay 7 Flower 002.jpgDay 7 Flower 003.jpgDay 7 Flower 005.jpgDay 7 Flower 006.jpgDay 7 Flower 004.jpgDay 7 Flower 007.jpgDay 7 Flower 008.jpgDay 7 Flower 009.jpgDay 7 Flower 010.jpgDay 7 Flower 011.jpgDay 7 Flower 013.jpgDay 7 Flower 014.jpgDay 7 Flower 015.jpgDay 7 Flower 012.jpg

So first off....let me begin by saying how sorry I am that my hard drive failed on me :/ I was offline for almost 3 weeks and it sucked ballz...so I upgraded my PC and began anew. Loads has happened since my last post, but it is NOT my goal in life and/or my RIU "career" to make a thread that just sucks to look at--->not my style! So Ima try to make up for it and do an epic one lulz.

I finished my buckets finally and I can honestly say I found a build I like. I CANNOT PHUCKING WAIT TO GO VERT! This horizontal should treat me nicely, but I'm so stoked to try somethin new, but the same ;) I added drains and water gauges to my bucket lids plus got them all wrapped in Reflectix. I just used some 2" long PVC risers and drilled a hole a little bit smaller so they would thread in. I also got three or four 1/2" PVC Ball Valves with the threaded ends so those just screw onto the risers going through the bucket and bam....drain. Water gauge thing is pretty simple. Just used some small dowel rod and ran it into some foam I had from my new Veg box build :D Colored it green for full bucket and red for 1/2 empty bucket. I also drilled a hole big enough for a flex-funnel so I can add my water into the buckets that way so hopefully it'll work like a charm.

The DK got another trim this evening. The last few pics are AFTER the trim and what she looks like now. She's almost 15" wide under the screen and VERY VERY compact. I removed some smaller nodes from under her skirt and trimmed some fan leaves. Not many as I like to tuck instead of cut off personally, but hey....to each their own :D I also switched her water to straight bloom nutes. I skipped a rez change last weekend and just added in partial bloom nutes to her veg nutes and let her bucket go another week. Put her in the brand new bucket tonight after I made sure they didnt leak and voila OFF WE GO!
