@rollitup- what kind of Amazon do you have? We've had a red-lored amazon named Rocky for over 25 years, he's kind of a pill but he's good for his mama
Many animals enjoy the plant in various capacities. It's been well documented.

'Steppin Razor' noted his experiences:

"Birds eat it
Ants love it
Fowls eat it
Goats love to play with it

So you've got to legalize it
And it don't criticize it
Legalize it, yeah yeah
And I will advertise it"

He's a yellow-nape Amazon. When I was looking for a parrot, I wanted one that was still young enough to require spoon-feeding, so it took me over a year to find one that young. I got a bird seller to go to the Quarantine Center in LA, and pick him up for me. I then had to feed him twice a day for 2 weeks, and he turned out to be a really good bird. Now that I've had him for 32 years, I'm glad that I went to all of that trouble. He will be 33 in March.

Great story, thanks for sharing it. Yellow napes are the best talkers, a friend had one that used to yell "Help! Call my lawyer!"
