MH bulb help! plz

so i have a new 400watt Sylvania MH bulb, a Hydro-Farm light fixture (white reflector). And a 400watt Lumatek ballast that supports HPS & MH. (note that ive never had any problems with the hps). anyways, ive been running the mh for about 3 or 4 days now. works fine except it makes this light humming/buzzing noise. its not noticeable unless your head is 1 or 2 feet away from the bulb. this noise is also not constant. it will do it randomly for about 15 or 20 seconds than stop. .. has anyone experienced this befor? or know what it means? help iz appreciated, thanks! :leaf:

Your probably hearing the ballast hum, there suppose to do that.

By the way, If you screw a "430 watt son agro hps" in your socket you'll have MUCH healthier plants and yields.

You can run this bulb from start to finish.

That plant was grown under one of them 430 watt son agro bulbs..

Thought id give you a valuable tip

il definitely look into a son argo hps... also i know for a fact this sound isnt coming from my ballast. i can hear it coming directly from the bulb. my ballast runs quiet and only makes very little noise at peak running hours. any suggestions!!??

All I can tell you is neither my MH nor HPS bulb hums at all. Btw is your ballast digital? Some of them to some spectral stuff which I guess could make the bulb make some humming.

im not sure what the difference between a regular or digital ballast. but it says on the box "Lumatek electronic ballast" & "digital lighting" so it must be digital lol ... ??
