My dad was a door gunner for the second half of his tour. He liked that way better than being on the ground.

They both had there plus's & minus's. Door gunner was a very dangerous job. I was on the ground most of the time, 9th Infantry Combat Medic, at least we could hide, the choppers were setting ducks, literally!

I never achieved moderation...so eventually I gave up......on moderation...then much later, I stopped drinking all together. My worst addiction. Opiates were nothing compared to alcohol.
