very cool.... downloading.... mustread.... thanks eh. ;)
Careful what you follow on that first link, whoever wrote that made some major mistakes in a few areas. They were probably separate instructions that were pasted together, but anytime I see that many mistakes I'm suspicious.

you know, i was just thinking i should write an 'explanatory note' hereabouts....

things are, as i predicted when the girls had to come home, going phenomenally badly. we have the thrip/pm combo and it's making the girls, well, rather ratty looking. while i'm not too proud to tell you guys that, i can't even bring myself to *take pics, much less upload them. we're pretty overextended on several fronts right now; this crop is at the "let's just effing limp it through to the end" mode. oh well, c'est la vie. less-than-ideal is as less-than-ideal does, i guess. thank goodness for skim milk and blossom blaster.

the good news is, now that the girls are less than perfect, it's full steam ahead on getting stuff finished.

As you know, Helper D and I feel your pain all too well. You're doing the right thing by concentrating on the build and back burnering the first crop. It's like the first pancake, anyways. Part of me wishes we would not of gotten our first crop in so soon. BUT...I am enjoying the sales today.

What is the state of the build? Are you close to puting away the screw guns?

well, i think we're pretty damn close now.... (when the plexiglass covers go over the banks of ballasts it'll be *done*)... except we're getting to that point where if he looks up and mutters to himself that he needs to "change that wire up" i don't know if that's an hour project or a day....
PLUS we're now reno-ing the rest of the house.
the pm just seems to be unavoidable right now, literally everyone we know has it. (it does get rather damp and cold still on the wet coast.)
i'm learning about this "serenade".... holy shit it *does stink.
and i will certainly be looking into lacewings. i don't know if we have any local bug people (i mean, shit, we have nute companies out the waazuu, there must be bug folk somewhere nearby too.... ;))

:(
I'm all sad now.
french crepe chefs have a saying: the first one always goes to the dogs.
(my dog would be all over that shit. especially if it was baked into crepes) (he hasn't been quite the same since the carrot cake incident..... oops. good thing it wasn't brownie)

very nice journal kitty...

i started my first vertical closet grow, with only one 400w, no cooltube, just a nice ducting fan right close below it, and it seems to work well for me...got 7 plants around it...started with 6....

How long have you been in this green rush may i ask ?

Anyways, keep up the splendid work kitty...:joint:

I like baking and do it often, my wife put a cookie on the coffee table and went into the kitchen came back and it was gone. We have 3 pit bulls so about an hour later we noticed the big female was drooling and a little wobbly and it only got worse she kept falling over and drool everywhere I would never do it on purpose but it was real funny to watch, she went to sleep for about 4 hours and was sort of fine when she got up. Lesson learned.

Something that's fun is catching a fly or 2 and put them in a glass or jar, blow some weed smoke into the glass and wait a minute than let them out on a table or somewhere flat, too funny. Happy Easter

thank you! well, 2011 will be my 15th year of growing and i do a lot of the repetitive stuff, and my man's been at it for a couple years longer, and he definitely wears the pants growing-wise.
i've grown to be fond of vertical over the years - when i first worked with it it took a lot of getting used to (mostly burns etc. ;)).

Kitty,

We're seeing some PM, too. Our bug suppliers wanted us to up our humidity to help out the predators. I always keep bloom at 40%, with zero PM. We went to 55% and, sure as shit, I'm seeing some small PM spots. I'm back to 40%. Those predators are going to have to just deal with it. We use a product called "Defender"...similar to Seranade...smells kind of like a combo of bad feet and vomit. Does that sound like the same funk? Anyways, it didn't work for shit. AND, I don't want my buds smelling anything like that. Let us know how the seranade works on the PM. What is you RH?

Happy Rabbit Day

I'm no kitty, but I've tried Serenade several times. I've never been impressed with the stuff for controlling either botrytis, or PM. Once I changed the environmental conditions that were allowing the fungus to thrive I haven't had a single issue. I know you're trying to find a happy medium to allow the predators to work, but I guess I don't really recommend the Serenade for serious control, and yeah, the smell is god awful.
