We could eliminate the crystallization problem easily by simply diluting the concentration of our products but we want to give our customers maximum benefits when purchasing our products.
Since crystallization only occurs when the nutrient concentrates are exposed to prolonged cold temperatures and can easily be reversed, we choose to not water down our products. This is why 1 quart of our Grow has more than double the net weight of minerals in solution than what is available in 3 quarts of GH three part nutrient products, for example.

Hi Dave,
I just picked up a 5 gallon of Foliage Pro from American Clayworks and when I was unloading and I noticed it sounds like it's full of gravel maybe something's crystallized I don't know I haven't actually opened it yet.

Michael,
Foliage-Pro, Grow & Bloom will crystallize when exposed to cold as they are supersaturated liquids. Remaining liquid is still complete. Use up the liquid, then add approximately an equal volume of hot water to the remaining crystals which will all go back into solution. Then use diluted solution at twice the original application rate. Or you can simply warm it up to melt the crystals.

Hi Dave,
I warmed it up to about a hundred and four degrees and it went right back into solution.

I live in SoCal. The "rocks" weren't in the bottle when I originally purchased it. I store my nutes in a climate controlled garage that never gets below 60 degrees.

You actually expect customers to add back hot water(by approximating the amount???) to dissolve the crystalized nutes? Did the nutes crystallize in ratios corresponding to what's listed on the bottle?

I've been finding I need to lower the feeding a bit compared to what's recommended (old formula). I'm going through a few new strains each cycle so always trying to play the" pinpoint the right ppm/EC" range game. For some varietals I've been getting light magnesium deficiency but don't want to crank the rest of the nutes up so I sprinkle some epsom salt for a ~50ppm boost. Curious if anyone else has found their hungrier varietals respond better to the recommended mixing rate.

Yep. The old formula is seriously lacking in mg. Epsom salt should take care of it. I heard from another member that the new formula also needs epsom salt supplementation. Especially under led which I grow under.
I tried 5g/gal and I did not like how green the plants got. That dosage still lacked mg. So, I had to supplement mg. I stay around 4.5g/gal (veg and flower)and when the plant starts to show deficiencies I supplement that element. Still way cheaper than anything else I use.
