I think seeing as we feed our animals a whole host of chemicals without their say, I see no problem with medibles for dogs etc, as mentioned in the dog training thread. I know several cars who will demand their share of the smoke. I mainly think the benefit would would be in joint conditions/pain management and appetite stimulation.

I used to smoke cigarettes (15 a day at worst), but now only smoke a small amount of tobacco in joints- this wolf now has a STRONG aversion to straight cigarette smoke and has observed the same in the animals under her care. They run from a Marlboro but will not leave until they have had the Mary.

These are good points. Im doubting the majority feed cannabis for medical conditions and don't puut much thought into dosage. I once saw someone put a cat under a crash helmet and blow in smoke.... Its that sort of bullshit attitude I'm really opposed to.

My childhood cat loved to get high. He would cheef out with me and my friends then get busy with his stuffed gorilla.

I got 2 new cats a year and a half ago and these ones are prudes, once they smell the smoke they bolt out of the room.

Why do some people feel that the medical abilities of cannabis should be kept limited to humans?
I'd much rather have my pet take/use an all natural drug than any synthetic, made in a drug company's lab, drug.
if i ever have a dog that gets hip displasia (however it's spelled) then yah I would probably make the dog some canna treats , but not just to get an animal stoned .

Don't Goats eat anything green. Grass, Weeds, Carrot and beetroot tops? The nearest goat to me is probably 100 miles away. (Excluding the West Indian curry house round the corner)
I'd pay real money (up to a dollar) to watch a goat eat Carrot Top. cn

I find it a bit of a taboo issue really. But certainly depends on the pet/animal in question. While my cat was still alive, i would often hit the shit out of people for blowing weed smoke in my cats face, idea being if she wanted it she' come for it, don't be a dik and just blow it at her. but at the same time, if i ever went out into the paddock or sat down on the patio, she would come running, but it was shown that i could make any a sound and she would come running and just sit and love my company, smoking or not. So if she was happy to sit on my lap or on the table while i was having a smoke, did that mean it was that she enjoyed smoke, or just my company. She ouldn't tell me so i figured it only sensible to assume that it still wasn't cool to simply blow smoke around her because she came a' runnin. Also remmeber there is a difference between enjoying the smell of something to enjoying having it forced into your lungs. I'll happily go and sit next to someone having a joint or a cigarette, it smells great, but if they blew it into my face, as with my cat, i'd probably break out the fistycuffs. Unless i get told that that is what they want, i'm not gonna be a dick and just make an assumption and force it on them.

I'm equally opposed in making animals dress up in funny outfits too. This seems to me to be anthropomorphism taken to the extreme. Although a bulldog in a dreadlock-rasta-hat whilst smoking a joint may seem funny, its not how it was supposed to be.

I always thought that blowing smoke at animals is inappropriate, bordering on animal cruelty. Just because you like it doesn't mean everyone/everything likes it as well. Alot of animals get scared when given psychoactive substances.

A cats heart has to be about the same size as a peanut. If anyone's ever eaten cannabis they'll know that too much can really fuck you up. Like mushrooms fuck you up. The heart can start beating like a 150 times a minute LOL.

Not good for a cats peanut heart.

The only "indians" allowed to use peyote are those who are members of the NAC.

Also, animals do not have the physiology we do. Cannabis smoke can be extremely harmful. Especially dogs.
There is no evidence that exists that cannabis is harmful to dogs. They have CB1 and CB2 receptors as well. Hell, there are species of sponges that have CB1 and CB2 receptors. That said, it's not something to do to your animal for amusement.
