Matching Drivers and COBs

Hi, I am thinking of buying :
Osram Opto GW MAGMB1.CM-TPTS-35S3-1050-T02, SOLERIQ P 13 Series White LED, 3500K
R8769205-01.jpg
I think its the same as a 50w HID, what wattage would these be best run at?

What driver would be best to run these please x 4 at once? Or single driver for 1 cob?

Just wanted to test them out to see what they are like.

Thanks for helping guys..

The voltage of that COB is very similar to the CXA3070 so you can use that column to see what drivers match.

Also worth mentioning, that Osram COB is 13mm, similar size as the Vero13. Osram suggests 1.05A (40W) as a drive current and you might expect 90 lm/W typical. The Vero13 3500K at 1.05A (35W) is 105 lm/W and cheaper if you can source those.

Bonjour
Is it possible to add Vero13 and cxa/b 2530/40 to the list?
And efficiency of the cob for each driver?
It is almost Christmas so...
Have a great day ★

Thanks SupraSPL, my friend has said i can buy his left over 12 x Osram Opto White LED, 3500K, So was just checking what driver/drivers would be suitable and what wattage to run them.

So its 40v x 1.05mA =42w each
3x hlg-185h-c1050B each driver set at 160v and 1050mA
What is the efficiency at these settings?

The Osram COB is 13mm, which is similar size as the Vero13. Do you think the vero13 holder would fit the Osram? Or do you think Osram may do the holders?

This light will be an addition to my 6 x cxb3590 36v 3500k which i am just waiting for lens and wire to put together.

My floor space is 6 x 4 foot and height is about 6ft where i have a mars2 1600w and a 400w hps.

Will these led's replace my mars2 and hps in this space? Or will it be overkill??

Cheers mate

Easy Rahz, so i guess they are no way as good as the cxb3590 for efficiency. Pretty gutted about that as my mate offered them cheap as he has them spare. I am after efficiency but 24% is rubbish really compared with the cxb3590. Do you know the best efficiency they can run at?

The relative luminous flux chart shows the effect of underdriving, looks like maybe around %30 efficient at 500ma.

Watt for watt they're probably going to perform better than CFL but Vero 18 at 1.05 amps is 4000 lumens for 30 watts, so there's still a substantial difference.

It is not easy when you start led/cob (much more for someone who do not have all the vocabulary especially for electronic parts! Like me!)
I still looking how to fuse my panels!
But you're in the right place for this...many smart and friendly peoples around here...!
Have a great day ★

I have always liked RIU because less fighting and more friendly helpful ppl.
I am starting to understand more and more, because I keep asking dumb questions and I get answers instead of mean remarks. The links to the right threads to read are great also!

I really understand you...
I am like this...I need to be sure and prefer to ask twice...or more...to be sure!
And because English is not my first language sometimes I don't get things...when people use only the first letters of some words like Lmfao or lol I know those but there's many I don't...or slang...very hard for me...
So sometime I can be "heavy" if you know what i mean! (IYKWIM...lol!)
Have a great day ★

Is your primary language French?

Our slang is weird, and now texting has made acronyms a normal part of speech.

Hello everyone,
I have been following all the threads for about a week now. I am sold on diy cobs. I have a couple questions for the gods of RIU but I wanted to introduce myself first. Thank you for all the valuable information and I am very happy to be in the presence of legends.
Agreed! I've always had a desire to get into diy led lighting...and since I've just delved into growing I'm all in! I am absolutely overwhelmed by all the numbers and options that are out there for led lighting! This site and the insight of pros like @SupraSPL and others...I'm starting to get it together...Thanks to all RIU members and their hard work..happy growing!
