They definitely grow to fill the available space (and then some) - gonna be bud heaven soon in there.

Do you have any humidity/air circulation problems with such crowded growth?

One day I should let my girlz go crazy, just to see how chaotic I can get my grow space ... nah, I'll stick with being an obsessive control freak and keep my girlz in cages & bondage :-)

I haven't had humidity issues yet although the ambient day-to-day humidity is 70 to 80% at the moment - gotta love Brisbane in the Summer ... NOT.

I had to use Silica Gel to suck the moisture out of my buds to get them to around 65% for curing, the air in my jars is 10% dryer than the air outside :-)

yeah victoria copped cyclone Yasi's humidty and after it crossed over out back NSW and heading south thats when the upper murray river Loddon and Campaske rivers were flooded (Kerang, swan hill echuca got flooded as well) a couple weeks back, me and the misses ended up bying this sweet arse portable a/c unit with ducting and all, (after the portable evap cooler we got was crap) so $1000 later we have nice aircon in our bedroom. but now our humidity (you've obviously still got it till wet season is over) is gone i've got sweet choices if i need to cool my grow tent down....bonus!!

How would you go about using the silica gel to suck the moisture out of the buds, do you put some in the jars with the buds..or?

I have a few decent sized pouches of silica gel that I dry out in the oven, then I have a huge ass jar that my bud jars fit into together with the silica gel.
I put a small hydrometer in the jar as well and when the humidity falls to 65% I pull out the bud jar and seal her up.

Next harvest I will be using a food dehydrator to get most moisture out of the buds then I will take the humidity to 65% with the silica gel.
Hopefully I will be able to dry the buds and get them to the 65% curing stage quickly and hopefully the buds will cure as well as the last lot that were dried a lot slower.

I think that the important part of curing is the time in the jars at 65%, not whether it takes a week to dry the buds or whether it takes a day to get there - as usual, I like experimenting :-)

hey MH in my trade as a boiler maker every spool of MIG wire i open up for welding has those little packets of silica gel in there, moisture is a no-no in welding so i collect them, i got heaps of them saved up :P
