I've been looking at cheaper properties / 4 season nice camps in the NE quadrant of the state. Even one that borders state land that then borders Canada. I'd like to find a place where you can't even see the house from the road if possible. lol Black flies be damned! ( hate those things and use a big shop fan to keep them off me during their season )
good luck up there,no jobs no money unless u fish or pick blueberrys. u really need to do more thinking do u know any one in maine?

i hope they develop the area responsibly. i live in a tourist area and they allowed them to build way too many cabins, now they're a blight, you look out at the mountains, and you just see clumps of cabins everywhere, with other disgruntled tourists in them, looking at your cabin.......
the gov will fuck it up for sure, the paper mills r all closing so the town says hey lets bring in some tourist, tens yrs later the place is trashed! sad whats going on at baxter park and moose head fucking shame!!

I'm a disabled Marine with a small disability check so I dont need a job if I can buy a place outright. I have an acquaintance or two in Maine but that's it.

Howdy all!

So in Oct last year we were hit head on in the Rocky Mnts of Colorado, broke my back, put us out of things for a while and we came to FL to heal up as shivering with broken vertebrae REALLY hurts! lol

That said, we're healed up enough to take our settlement $ and get the hell out of this sauna they call FL and back to a state with 4 seasons and grow friendly laws.

I'm a master grower with over 20yrs experience, troubleshooter, and grow room designer who has tested over 200 strains from seeds / cloning to a finished product. I'm well versed in what strains give what benefits, and my wife's edibles are 2cd to none and XXX powerful! I've built pro rooms from one light to far more than I'll admit to for people. I'm also a retired/disabled US Marine infantryman and Professional poker dealer.

We're making our plans to move to Maine and thought it would be a great idea to make new friends there who could help us get into the swing of things in Maine to the mutual benefit of all. My wife and I are disabled in one form or another and what that means is we're available full time to set up / fix up / run a grow room or grow rooms when we're not looking for an awesome place to go fishing & hunting with our Labrador! No grow room issue we can't fix from you not having the time to do what needs doing to those nasty russet mites.

We're awaiting the rest of our settlements from this car accident out in Colorado where we used to live and are hoping to find some place we can live cheap and grow while we wait. that will allow us to actually visit potential properties instead of just looking at pictures on the internet.

Be it a private person or a dispensary who needs a Master grower, Maybe I'm the man you're looking for to end your MMJ issues. please contact me. GROW420BUDDY at Yahoo

Thanks for your time,
Grow Buddy
Welcome to New England! My state of VT just turned legal to grow in July. I bet there is a market here for grow room design and consult. Vermont is still ironing out the gifting thing. I think that we will eventually go to a tax and regulate system. Until then, they haven't addressed how we can obtain seeds and clones.

Thanks! Very interesting. I've checked out VT property but it is a bit more expensive than Maine. With a partner who has space and $ to set up we could make it work though :)

Alaska you must be a legal resident to be licensed or to be allowed to invest. No idea if other states are that way so here's my short on this point - there's growers and there's business owners. Very few owners here have the skill for anything other than growing and gathering money. It cost them tons to learn about money.

You? You're just a guy who learned free and it was fun. Do not expect any appreciation (meaning pay) from these cocksuckers. I have stories but poor typing skills on a phone.

I predict extreme disappointment and poverty for you. Not wanting this you understand but experience from living it.

You, sir, are quite correct about $ people. I've made a few folks rich and they begrudge paying up the pre negotiated share for all the hard work and experience, no days off, and then tirelessly manicuring and, and, and... Trying to renegotiate terms after they believe you're too invested to reject their bull shit.. People would pay a master grower min wage if they could get away with it. steal from you if you don't keep an eye on them, tell you "all you have to do is water them and they grow", I've heard it all and laughed as I watched them attempt to do what I do after I walk the hell away. It happens time and time again. I've even had partners demand that I make the crop ripen 2 weeks early cuz they need the $! LMMFAO.. that happened.
I'm not looking for that person and can spot a jack ass con man a mile away. My hard work never gets out the door until I'm paid. Give me home w/a basement so I sleep on top my hard work to keep it safe. lol

Actually they just fire you or let you go. Don't share knowledge and do not document anything meaning feeding, routines etc. Nothing.

Money people suck hot hard cock.
1st thing you tell a $ person is " you'll have to spend a LOT of $ then be cool for MIN 6months. By min I mean no bitching and reminding anyone what ya spent for MINIMUM 6 months, and don't count your $ till its in your hands " Don't ask me how much we'll yield, we yield what we yield as EVERY strain is different. Some of the best strains don't yield much vs other less known strains. you can't know what to expect until you've done a few runs, and tweaked the room to its full potential.
inevitably by 2months they're crying like under fed infants.. the plants don't GAF about you and take the time they take. yelling at the plants or me won't make them go faster. lol

It is truly hard to find good people, that's a fact.. Hell, its hard to even get a good trimmer who's consistent. Other than my wife and I we only met ONE guy we'd invite back in CO.

I have no issues waiting until we can do this alone as we treat each plant like its the ONLY plant. However, I know there's someone out there who is a right fit to jump start this exodus from this shit hole that they call FL.

I never leave notes around on anything, schedules ( like exactly when to take new cuttings so they are the proper size when you pull out the previous crop ) are kept secret, and I've learned to mix nutrients much like a baker no longer needing to measure their ingredients. If ever a partner/employer asks you to teach them or someone else how to do it just like you do you can bet your left nut that you're time at that grow is coming to an end and you're going to be fucked over. If they can do it without you their profits go up and since $ people don't respect you this may seem like a smart move on their part... NEVER teach them how to do it like you do.

That said, I'd love to have a Patawon ( love me some Star Wars ) as I am also a teacher of sorts. Too bad all the people who ever wanted me to teach them were quite unwanted or had treachery on their mind.

What's happening now with growers is ME Residents with existing Med grows will be given first crack at the Retail grows as I understood it. People are coming to establish residency.
Iv'e seen CO, AK and AZ independents set up, and a group from CA set up several big grows with a smart honest money guy, security, and keeping the other stoner growers up on their paperwork and taxes, so they don't ruin it for everyone. Keeping their licences active will make it easier to buy out later, is my thought. Probably bankrolling a few guys too, because that's what I would do. Still, nice people. An actual job with payroll and everything isn't too terrible, to keep the oil tank filled in the winter.

I just don't think local growers have the scale needed for gainful employment beyond a few close friends, and it's a tough job to get if you just showed up from away. Hit the CannaCon and NeCann and MOGFA and whatever pot shows, do some networking,or start being a Nute salesman for a spell. That's why I steered you to the Coastal Plains west of Belfast where MOGFA has its roots. That is the best place to start, MOGFA for what you want to accomplish. They are a cult according to some superstitious old timers. And alot of older farmer's joined also. They are leasing their farms to young couples and helping out because they don't want to see the family homestead fade away.

I pointed out areas of the state that are showing growing economic activity because it's a new opportunity if you think ahead. Such as the Salmon farm is going to supply product to Coast of Maine, Benson's(Compost Companies) and possibly a kelp producer in Nova Scotia and they will all need skilled people to sell the products to their market. The salmon farm is a giant hydro system of a sort, too.
Katahdin Woods and Waters is driving growth, with rafting companies, bicycle tours, campers, AT hikers, all big potheads needing a growing supply over the next few years, not stepping on anyone's toes hopefully.

Personally, I think the market over time will devolve in a corporate direction over the next 10 years, with boutique growers surviving and serving local markets as they always have..stealth.

Yes I have but the property is much more expensive than Maine. Same with Washington, and I've already done Colorado which is a NIGHTMARE for finding / keeping affordable housing.
There's cheap Oregon property on the Eastside if you go a bit south. Blue Ribbon trout waters and good hunting from elk and deer to waterfowl of all kinds and upland birds. Look around Klamath Falls and Chiloquin.

Hey, just remembered that the same Norwegian company that is building the facility in Maine is building a 1.2 million sq.ft fish facility near you, in Miami of all places. Can you imagine the sheer volume of water that place will recycle every day?

Running or leasing an associated hydro (vegetable) farm may be part of the recycling process or business plan.
Iceland, Norway, Denmark,etc.. are all part of this comprehensive green fishing initiative, everything from fish-bio diesel engines, non toxic chemicals on the boat and processing plants, bio degradable nets and lines, paper packaging, and reducing waste from the industry to zero. (Wait till GreenPeace catches someone running whale-bio diesel, that will take some explaining.)

The executives from Norway were pointing out the trails and river and bushes to reporters at their Maine site, and humming about needing wildflower gardens and vegetables. I think they were looking forward to that part of the job, not bluster for the camera.
That was going to be his lunch spot obviously. Miami might be different, huh? At least he'll have food trucks.

Get you or your wife in there and then transfer to Maine. Or apply there, they might pay moving costs.
They are just in initial phases at both sites, but who knows. Maybe you can grow them some cloudberries 'molter', it's like Acapulco Gold to them.

Thank you for the heads up. I'm actually interested in setting up a home aquaponics system in conjunction with a greenhouse as home grown food is like printing your own $!

However, Miami is quite a hike from here ( N. of Tampa on the coast ) ( also, N of Tampa is an ultra red neck shit hole )
i believe I will look into that area with economic growth in Maine & will have another look at Oregon near the Klamath falls area, that is if Oregon also will honor our Concealed Carry Permits like Maine does.
I'm not looking to make bank selling, but I sure can make bank helping others raise their grow game plus we're awesome trimmers and that's good $. I do miss that about CO. We have a good reg there and did well manicuring buds. ( its not easy getting invited to do that, people have to trust you )

I'll take another look at the area now, but I don't think they can beat the deals in Maine. Plus I hear about Lobster roll or something like that in Maine. I think I could spend some cash on cheap lobster.. Nothing like fresh seafood after a nice sesh :)
