It's not my light (I know it's the same model I'm using just saying I'm not associated with Mars Hydro)... if you only have a thread on here I'm sure that's fine...just hit up the @MarsHydrofactory account with any rules questions...

I'm doing timelapses on youtube since the cumulative views count and I can scavenge extra views that way...

I mean google owns youtube so any free account will be able to upload videos.... I'm using a random old email that I had for an aquaponics design business I used to run.

That's what the page says, I've been shooting them the link for each video as well.

I wonder how much $ Mars Hydro is saving in advertising costs by giving away $2,000~ worth of gear/coupons.

It totally is, I had the same chat with the GF when she said she doubts they will send any gear.... and half of the prizes are discounts I guarantee are way less than their profit margin so some winners will directly add profits.

....all that being said I'm broke but desperate for a bigger light so I'm gonna work it lol

I'm also assuming they will use any good photos of crops grown with their gear in marketing stuff saving on photographer/demo costs.

If she and I don't find some way to keep ourselves busy and away from each other this quarantine is going to end up with a break up or murder-suicide... especially with me working from home.

Nahh theyll send it. They sent my buddy a TS2000 and a 4x4 grow tent for free because he has like 3k viewers on YouTube for his pot channel lol.

Like you said, with their margins on the light, they're essentially MAKING money by giving stuff away for free and stipulating the end user has to shill for them in videos or threads. What would cost them 10k+ in an advertising campaign to reach a few hundred people, they are getting for a few hundred dollars and are able to market their products directly to their target market.

Genuinely brilliant. And more power to ya! This is the first contest thread I've seen, so ill do my best to help ya keep it bumped!

Thanks @BluntMoniker - yea I just barely missed the last contest but I talked to a winner and they totally got the gear so I'm not worried. Once I broke the numbers down she agreed as well.... that's just not her strong suit naturally.

Makes sense...my grandpa had 12 siblings living on a farm...every year and a half they popped out another one like clockwork starting at age 18 so they would never run out of farm workers...milking cows takes a lot of busy hands
