All that "mixing up up w/other kids learning life lessons" didn't turn out very well. Most kids of the era you describe grew up to become attachments to Barca-loungers, eat bad food, complain about the government, watch Fox news and wear MAGA hats.

The younger generation I've come to know are focused on their little screens but they are actually doing something instead of what the Barca-lounge generation does. They live intensely social lives. What younger generation wasn't criticized by the elder for being lazy, shiftless, ignorant and different from their supposedly superior generation?

We can't know how the new generation will turn out but we do know that they are much more socially connected and aren't as afflicted with racism, bigotry or misogyny as old fucks like you and older turned out to be.
