Malted Barley smell

Does malted barley smells like semen?

Smells like homebrew. Anyone in the house not brewing will hate you for it

I tought I accidently malted some barley seeds and they smelled like semen. I was trying to sprout them for sst but temps were too cold and they sat in water for too long. Wanted to make sure that someone didn't have fun with my barley seeds when I was away.

As a professional brewer, I would say no. Malted barley smells like Cheerios and other cereals. When added to hot water, malted barley smells robust and sweet. When “malting” barley, you can have various smells depending on your process. There are enzymes unlocked from layers in the endosperm of the barley seed, combined with fermenting carbohydrates, and microbial life that exists for a short time before drying and kilning. That wet, earthy smell may remind you of spunk?

I think someone may have dropped the skeet bud!
