Male Plants! General questions

Yeah im a beginner this my first grow. I am growing northern lights x big bud and am using 125w dual spec cfl atm. I did have 4 plants but 2 died and just aswell because i would not have had enough lights for 4

ok, But as I understand it the bud/flower produces the resin and trichs and since the male doesn't produce the bud how does it produce trich's. I have looked at male plants and not found trich's. I'm not saying your wrong just looking for some proof that what I read and have seen is wrong.

If you keep them long enough, you'll see the trich's. I keep a bunch of male plants that I keep in veg all the time. When I want to breed I clone one (depending on what I want to mix with). when I look at a leaf under a magnifying glass (I use a 60X to 100X handheld) I can see all the beautiful trich's all over the leaves. Looks just like the female (even if you get rid of the males next time you grow from seed, look with a magnifyer at leaves you'll see even in veg state). You can see the trich's on both male and female plants if magnified even in veg state, like I said I use a 6X - 100X to see mine. I like to get a good luck at what I have although I do have a 10X and 30X loupes I like my high poered one.

I've never used a male to make hash, but for fun/experimentation I've smoked the fan leaves of a male and of a female just to see what happens if anything. And to answer the next wuestion you get a mild high. No where near as good as smoking weed, but it does actually effect you. This leads to a good point to make. If you guys want to have a really good high, next harvest don't throw away your fan leaves, keep them, I keep either put them in water to keep them moist of I'll make a clone about 2 - 3 weeks after I start flowering and then add it in as you want fresh fan leaves for this. Yes sounds wierd but keep reading. So you got your stash dried now. Get yourself a shishkabob stick, skewer what ever you want to call it. Now build yourself a cigar around it. I usually use a honey, hash oil, something a little sticky that will dry that you don't mind smoking. layer up your bud around the stick. take a while. Then your fan leaves are used to form the wrap. It's better than a blunt by far. Once they are wrapped in fan leaves, tie it up to keep it together and put it away for at least three weeks to dry properly. Smoke it and wow. You might want to sit around with friends for this one.

You guys are talking about making hash from the males so im assuming you can make Butane Honey Oils as well... correct?

Yes i have looked it up u can also make brownies with the leaves but they wont be that potent bu still would get you stoned. I dont really have to worry about males anymore.. The plants havent shown there sex but i got 10 afgani seeds and some blue cheese fem seeds so if i get a male i will just throw it out and start growing more

If you got some money to spare then you can take your male plant out and make bubble hash, but you gotta buy bubble bags. Theres plenty of vids on youtube that show how to make it. just search bubble hash

I wouldnt waste my money on them bags you can do the same thing with a blender ice water leaves and a mesh thing ha i cant remember name of it? Really stoned atm

producing seeds isnt the worst thing in the world. i have smoked plenty of weed that had seeds in it and it got me high as fuck. and if you dont want seeds, just move the plants to a different area. then you still have it, and you dont have seeds. and you can use the males to make hash. the males just have a lower percentage of THC than the females

When I smoke weed with seeds in them I get a mild high unless I smoke a shit load.

Yeah same as mate i never did understand how the seeds got there before i started to learn how to grow..
The only weed i have ever got without seeds wat white widow and i thought it wasnt nothing special not even that good of weed like

I just want to bring up the point that you can have a male and female and pollinate which buds you want. You grow the male full term and have it in a separate location with newspaper under it to catch the falling pollen. You then store this pollen in some container and i hear you keep it like in the freezer. but when the female is flowering, you can take a cue tip and pollinate wherever you want and have some buds of the plant seed free. The buds that don't get pollinated are trying their hardest to find pollen to reproduce producing more resin which gives you a better high than the ones that are pollinated, that and energy goes into making the seeds. That's what I've gathered. Sounds kinda gross but yeah, milk your males.

I might actually do this if i am unfortuante enough to get a male.. Eithre way i could make a few quid with a few seeds and sell em on like. Some people say that the seed you get from like a skunk plant might not be skunk? I dont get that

i've tried smokin a male before, and you do get a wee bit of a buzz. I keep them and make blender hash from them. works great for me

I did a search and found one artical that said males produce a very small amount of thc. So I guess if I was growing lrg crops I wouldn't seperate the males out. I laso realized I have never looked at a mature male. Now I guess I need to grow a friggin male so I can look at it. sheesh.

In the resin that is in the entire plant is THCA which is Tetrahydro- cannabinolic acid, its not psychoactive. However, after decarboxylation it becomes mind blowing THC. So male plants are great for making honey oil.
