Male or Female help needed Please

I have read many different posts on how to find out if your plant from seed is a male or female plant. From what I read, taking a cutting from each plant and flowering it will be the best method. My question is.... If I use rockwool and clonex, should I put the cutting in a 12/12 cycle immediately or should I make sure it roots out a couple of days? Normally I would take a cutting and keep it under 24hr light for about a week or more, (until i see the roots) but it sounds like it really doesn't matter and going into a straight 12/12 cylce.
Any help, suggestion or critique is welcome.
Thanks

No you take the cut and flower the plant you took the cut from not the clone. The clones would be going into a regular veg cycle.

The problem I have is that I dont know if the plants I will be taken cutting from are Male or Female. I dont have much space and I want to Veg them longer instead of putting them into the 12/12 cycle. If I take the cuttings and flower them, they should show signs of Female or Male within a week or so. My specific question is should I root the clones before putting them in the 12/12 or should I just 12/12 them. I just dont want to continue to Veg them out for a couple more weeks if they are Male. Right now they are at week 6 from seed and I cant tell if they have a iny or an outy :)

Hey wassup bro. I usually let the roots develope till I can see just to be sure that your clone will flower properly and some times if u flower right a away it may cause the plant to herm ( may ) it has happend to me a few times with dj shorts blueberry, martian mean green, and a few Dutch passion gens. But that was cuz I stressed them. But I would recommend to let them root just to be in the safe side. Keep it green bro and remember sharing is cRing

Friend gave me some seeds and said it was decent. Not sure what he called it but said it was an indica.

You can go ahead and do 12/12 as soon as you take the cut it should show sex by the time it roots.
Thanks. I just want it to show me what it is and i don't need the clone after its shown. The reason I was thinking that i would root it first is to make sure it is strong enough to go into flowering without roots. I have read so many different things on this topic but none that I have come across details when to pop it into 12/12. Thanks for your input!
